"The California legislature just passed S.B. 107, a dangerous bill that undermines the fundamental right of every parent in every state to direct the upbringing of their children."
This day in Herstory: Elizabeth I, born September 7, 1533 (died March 24, 1603) was Queen of England and Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death in 1603. Sometimes referred to as the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth was the last of the five monarchs of the House of Tudor. Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, his second wife, who was executed when Elizabeth was two years old. Anne's marriage to Henry was annulled, and Elizabeth was declared illegitimate. Her half-brother Edward VI ruled until his death in 1553, bequeathing the crown to Lady Jane Grey and ignoring the claims of his two half-sisters, the Roman Catholic Mary and the younger Elizabeth, in spite of statute law to the contrary. Edward's will was set aside and Mary became queen, deposing Lady Jane Grey. During Mary's reign, Elizabeth was imprisoned for nearly a year on suspicion of supporting Protestant rebels. (more)

A new state law makes California a haven for dangerous, irreversible sterilizing surgeries and treatments for minors, threatening parents’ rights elsewhere.
From National Review (USA)
By Sharon Supp
September 7, 2022
The California legislature just passed S.B. 107, a dangerous bill that undermines the fundamental right of every parent in every state to direct the upbringing of their children. It allows California courts to strip custody from parents — even parents who don’t live in California — who have legitimate concerns about a young child undergoing irreversible medical procedures to appear as a different gender.
California wants to become a “sanctuary state” to which minor children from around the country can flee (or even be taken by someone else) to obtain on-demand puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or surgeries to remove healthy body parts . . . without the knowledge or consent of their parents. … read full article

Scotland - Scottish Government must come clean over the muddle of gender law reforms
This week, MSPs return to Parliament to consider draft legislation that will allow any man to be recognised as a woman in law, if he declares himself so.
From The Scotsman (Scotland)
By Lucy Hunter Blackburn, Kath Murray and Lisa Mackenzie
September 7, 2022
The Gender Recognition Act already allows a few individuals to change their legally recognised sex by obtaining a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC). The Scottish Government is proposing to remove all medical oversight from the process, and issue GRCs based on self-declaration alone, effectively making them available on demand. Ministers maintain this will have no impact on women’s rights.
Thinking of these certificates as a sort of ‘key’ helps to understand the arguments here. MSPs are being asked to agree to give out far more of these keys, to a larger and more diverse group of people, with scant protections and minimal regulation. … read full article

Canada - Tribunal avoids putting guardrails on how gender identity theory can be taught (NB vs OCDSB)
Case Dismissed
From Canadian Gender Report (Canada)
Pamela Buffone
September 7, 2022
The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) did not find that my daughter’s case vs OCDSB met the criteria for “direct discrimination” and their reasoning was that our daughter was not denied access to education services. They also found our argument that the repeated pattern of instruction in gender identity theory resulted in a poisoned environment and the direct statement (at least once) by the teacher that “there’s no such thing as girls and boys” was adequately corrected; by the teacher using a gender spectrum as a further teaching tool with 6-year-olds and without any recognition of biological sex as a relevant and important personal characteristic.
