"The videos reveal that the doctors are performing gender 'affirmation' surgeries on children because it’s a 'big money maker.'"
This day in Herstory: Fanny Searls, born September 21, 1851 (died May 24, 1939), also known by her married name Fanny Gradle, was an American physician and botanical collector. Dalea searlsiae, Searls' prairie clover, is named after her. Born in Waukegan, Illinois, she attended Northwestern University and the University of Michigan, gaining her medical degree in 1877. She then worked at Bellevue Hospital as a student nurse as there were few opportunities for women to gain medical internships at the time. In the meantime, she had developed skills as a concert pianist and a collector of botanical and geological specimens. (more)
US - Kids and gender — we have to (be able to) talk about it
Extreme voices on both sides are dominating the conversation. We need the silenced center to speak up.
From Boston Globe (USA)
By Lisa Selin Davis
September 21, 2022
There is perhaps no topic in America more radioactive, more difficult to discuss, than kids and gender. Everything about the subject is turned up to 11. One day, a pediatric gender clinic in Boston receives a hoax bomb threat; another, a trans woman says she condones violence against a young woman who regrets her transition and the double mastectomy she had at 15. Some Catholic schools insist that anyone operating outside the gender binary be expelled or fired; some public schools appear to be teaching that the gender binary is an imperialist invention. School boards and teachers battle over gender guidelines and gender books.
Many liberals I know tend to see the issue as left and right. The thinking goes that lefties embrace gender diversity and inclusion and teach those values in school; conservatives reject or even ban those ideas. Thus, if someone challenges those ideas, they are labeled right-wing. … read full article
US - The Detransition Diaries Tell the Stories of Young Women Fed to a Brutal Medical Machine
Three young detransitioned women speak out in a new documentary by Jennifer Lahl
From 4W (USA)
By Josephine Bartosch
September 21, 2022
The young women in Jennifer Lahl’s latest film Detransition Diaries will never be able to run away from the mistakes they made in their youth; they are fated to carry them on their bodies and sound them in their voices for the rest of their lives. But by sharing their stories and talking about the harm done to them, the three young detransitioned women featured, Helena, Cat and Grace, might save others from believing the lie that they can change sex. And perhaps surprisingly, the tone of Lahl’s documentary is hopeful; the interviewees are presented not simply as victims, but as survivors.
Lahl is an experienced film maker and campaigner, as president of The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network, the topics she tackles are those which the liberal left would rather ignore. She dissects the politics of the body and gives female victims of the transgender and fertility industries a platform from which to talk about their own exploitation. … read full article

From Daily Caller (USA)
By Chrissy Clark
September 21, 2022
Tennessee’s Republican Governor has called for an investigation into Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) over the organization’s reported involvement in performing irreversible surgeries on minors, a spokeswoman for Gov. Bill Lee told the Daily Caller.
Lee is calling on the state’s Attorney General to investigate whether VUMC crossed any ethical or legal guidelines when operating or providing “gender-affirming” hormone treatments to minors. … read full article
US - Destroying the Healthy Bodies of Minor Children
From Denny Burk (USA)
September 21, 2022
Matt Walsh has posted a thread on Twitter that is currently going viral. It features videos from the transgender clinic at Vanderbilt in Nashville. You need to watch these videos to understand just how disturbing the treatment of gender-confused children really is.
The videos reveal that the doctors are performing gender “affirmation” surgeries on children because it’s a “big money maker.” According to Vanderbilt, surgeries removing children’s healthy sexual organs are lucrative because they require a lot of “follow ups.” Which is another way of saying that cutting off healthy organs often results in life-altering, long-term, painful complications. That’s why “follow-ups” are required. But it’s a big “money maker” for the doctors, so no problem as far as they are concerned. … read full article
US - Mutilating children is too good a business to pass up
From Hot Air (USA)
By David Strom
September 21, 2022
Children are being recruited into the transgender cult at an alarming rate. Transgender ideology is being pushed in schools, in public libraries, in the media, and by so-called “experts” who assure us all that kids discovering that they are genderqueer furry unicorns is a great thing and will make the world a happier place.
It’s not just sick, but as with most cults at base, it is all a giant scam. The people at the top of the cult pyramid are making bank, just as you would expect with other cult leaders.
Matt Walsh and the Daily Wire investigators decided to take a look at their relatively new gender clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As a local institution, it just made sense for the Daily Wire team to do a deeper dive into what the Medical Center is doing and why they got into the business. … read full article
US - REPORT: Group Promoting Transgenderism For 2-Year-Olds Raked In More Than $250 Million In Taxpayer Funds
From Daily Caller (USA)
By Chrissy Clark
September 21, 2022
An alleged nonpartisan organization that promotes transgender ideology to children as young as two years old received over $250 million in taxpayer funds, according to data reviewed by the Daily Caller.
Zero to Three, an early childhood development organization that has trained nearly 90,000 educators, hosted a virtual conference in September with sessions that talked about “elevating racial equity” in babies, according to a 2021 Impact Report. Sessions were titled “What Does It Mean to Be Transgender and How Can You Support Kids Who Might Be?” and “Elevating Racial equity in the First 1,000 Days: Protecting, Promoting, and Preserving the Health, Wealth, and Learning of Our Families and Babies,” according to a Washington Free Beacon report. … read full article
US - The University of Washington Is Putting Trans Kids At Risk By Distorting Suicide Research
This has been a shameful episode
From Singal-Minded (USA)
By Jesse Singal
September 21, 2022
Anyone who has read my work knows that I am not a fan of harm inflation. I don’t like the tendency to treat more and more things as “harmful” or even “violent,” because I think this is usually a derailing tactic employed by individuals who don’t want to engage in conversation or argument.
But it’s obviously true that in some cases, the propagation of some types of information can be reasonably described as harmful or even potentially dangerous. Few of even the free-speechiest of free speech bros would deny this. And I genuinely think what the University of Washington School of Medicine is doing — has been doing, since April — could put trans kids at risk. … read full article

With high school fall sports seasons in full swing across Washington state, it appears some local teen athletes are facing a so-called “Lia Thomas situation” here.
Lia Thomas is the highly publicized, biologically male University of Pennsylvania swimmer whose current transgender status now allows them to compete – and win – against biologically female swimmers.
According to several parents who recently attended a Puget Sound-area four-way high school cross country meet, a sophomore runner who competed as a male last season won the girls race last weekend. … read full article
US - Feminism and transgenderism are not one in the same
From The Carolina Journal (USA)
By JOSHUA PETERS
September 21, 2022
Early 21st-century social movements have brought about significant political reforms and cultural attitudes around women’s rights. The #MeToo movement in 2018 brought to light a culture of sexual abuse in Hollywood and other so called elite circles. The #MeToo movement spurred women to come forward and speak out against sexual abuse by prominent figures like film producer Harvey Weinstein, actor and comedian Bill Cosby, and Wall Street financier Jeffrey Epstein, which ultimately led to charges and convictions of criminal sexual behavior and rape.
For many, these events solidify America’s commitment to human equality since the beginning of the women’s suffrage movement of the 19th century.
While some feminists take a nebulous position that more work is needed, an interesting development has occurred within feminism that produced a specific and concrete political and cultural opponent: transgenderism. … read full article

US - Going Woke Isn’t Hard When You’ve Got a Library Card
From Minding the Campus (USA)
By David Randall
September 21, 2022
American school districts need new policies to guide their librarians in their acquisitions practices. New policies, which provide explicit guidelines on political pluralism and obscenity, as well as reaffirming librarians’ deference to parental preferences for their minor children, would do a great deal to defuse the political battles that have flared up about the contents of school libraries.
Public and school librarians used to be cautious only to select and recommend books for minors that would not needlessly violate the moral sensibilities of any substantial portion of the American public. They did so with a deep sense of responsibility, since the public had entrusted them with the responsibility to use public monies to educate their children. Librarians therefore strove to avoid partisan commitment. They also strove not to introduce any materials which might be considered obscene to minors—and were careful to select appropriate materials for each age. … read full article
US - With Drag Queen On ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ Disney Aims More Sexual Propaganda At Kids
Because ‘DWTS’ is considered a family-friendly show, children could watch the series on Disney Plus without parental knowledge.
From The Federalist (USA)
By BAILEY DURAN
September 21, 2022
In a move that shouldn’t come as a surprise due to Disney’s penchant for targeting children with sexual propaganda, season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” features a drag queen. In the season premiere on Monday, drag queen “Shangela” and partner Gleb Savchenko earned raving praise from the judges and tied for third overall out of 16 couples.
Allowing a drag performer to compete, and with a male pro dancer no less, is just another part of a systemic effort by Disney — which now hosts “Dancing with the Stars” on Disney Plus — to push the entertainment giant’s perverted sexual agenda on kids. … read full article
US - Schools hiding students' gender identities would lose federal funding under new bill
From The National Desk (US)
By ALEC SCHEMMEL
September 21, 2022
WASHINGTON (TND) — Senator Tim Scott, R-S.C., introduced legislation Tuesday that would strip federal funding from schools that conceal a student's desire to transition genders.
Schools exist to educate children — not indoctrinate them. And a quality education requires input from those who know children best: their parents," Sen. Scott said in a press release.
Sadly, radical and secretive gender policies have shut parents out of the conversation and broken their trust," Sen. Scott continued. "My bill will safeguard parental rights, improve the crucial relationship between parents and schools, and ensure that children can learn in an environment free from activist ideology."
Critics across the country argue there are no federal laws compelling schools to disclose a student's desire to use different pronouns, or to be referred to by a different name, to their parents. Scott's law would seal the deal for any school seeking to maintain its federal funding. … read full article

Republican state lawmakers took to the Capitol rotunda Tuesday to tout newly introduced legislation they call the “Parental Bill of Rights” that could change what is and isn’t taught in Pennsylvania classrooms.
The bill may seem familiar as it shares similarities to Florida’s “Parental Rights in Education Bill,” also termed by opponents as the “Don’t Say Gay Bill.”
According to the proposed legislation, House Bill 2813 would focus specifically on teaching what’s considered age-appropriate material in the classroom and notifying parents about changes in their child’s health. … read full article

Montclair parents voiced support for the district’s newly implemented sex education curriculum Monday, speaking out against comments made by two Board of Education members and a resident at a meeting earlier this month questioning the curriculum.
At the Sept. 7 board meeting, resident Lorraine Regan asked that the statewide sex education curriculum be put on pause in Montclair schools so that parents can have a chance to review it. Regan did not identify herself as a parent in the district.
A 2020 revision of the state’s comprehensive health and physical education curriculum was implemented in schools this month. … read full article
US - A Mother Intent on Protecting Her Daughter Speaks Out

September 21, 2022
You are witnessing a portrait in courage. This is a mother telling a very familiar story, one that I’ve heard more than a dozen times from parents who share her predicament. Their daughters have been caught up in a social contagion. Their daughters have been told that because they are gender nonconforming or uncomfortable with their female bodies as they undergo sexual maturation and all the difficulties that entails — the sexualization by a porn saturated society, the bloody monthly cycles and risks of pregnancy, and all the specifically gendered social pressures of adolescence — that they are in fact boys whose wrong bodies can be medically transformed to match the boy they really are on the inside. Their daughters have joined online communities that encourage them in this belief, and encourage them to regard anyone who stands in the way of this promised transformation as an enemy. … read full article
The Danger of Politicizing Science
Truth and justice are best served by more rigor, not less.

Should academic journals appoint themselves social justice gatekeepers?
Nature Human Behaviour, a respected member of the Springer stable, thinks so. “Science has for too long been complicit in perpetuating structural inequalities and discrimination in society,” the editors declare in a recent manifesto. “With this guidance, we take a step towards countering this.”
The editors assure us that “advancing knowledge and understanding is a fundamental public good.” Okay. They say that research should avoid harming the individuals it studies; not a controversial proposition. But then, in a move that deserves to be very controversial, they broaden their definition of unacceptable harm to include negative social consequences for studied groups. … read full article
UK - Miriam Cates MP condemns trans woman’s victory in hospital changing room case
From The Times (UK)
By Jonathan Ames
September 19, 2022
A ruling that an NHS manager discriminated against a transgender employee by asking if they took off their underwear in a women’s changing room has “deeply worrying” implications, an MP has said.
The worker, who was born a man, successfully sued Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for gender reassignment discrimination in July. Employment judges heard that a manager had questioned the employee after concerns were raised that they had been naked from the waist down in the women’s changing room.
Sarah-Jane Davies, the tribunal judge, said in the ruling: “This was a communal changing room with a shower cubicle. [It did not seem] likely that there would have been a concern about a cisgender woman in a state of undress while changing in such a changing room.” The ruling means the trans woman will be entitled to damages, which will be allocated later. … read full article

Fox’s “Family Guy” is awfully prescient for our current times. Take this segment. A woman sits at a bar watching pornography on a phone. The bartender interjects, “Excuse me, ma’am, no porn at the bar.” The apparent woman responds, “Oh it’s okay, I’m transgender.” The bartender exclaims, “Oh, I had no idea. Do whatever you want all the time.”
What a great summary of the West’s current attitude toward transgenderism. Because we’ve enshrined such subjective terms as “gender identity” and “gender expression” into law, whatever a trans person says, goes. In other words, the West is now in the position of protecting attitudes and expressions that are completely at odds with reality and pose a menace to society. … read full article

Family First NZ is welcoming an overdue turnaround in the Ministry of Health’s policy on puberty blockers for young people with gender dysphoria.
Up until last week the Ministry of Health stated that “Puberty Blockers are a safe and fully reversible medicine that may be used from early puberty through to later adolescence to help ease distress and allow time to fully explore gender health options.”
But last Friday that advice was quietly changed by the Ministry. “Safe and fully reversible medicine” has been removed and replaced with “Blockers are sometimes used from early puberty through to later adolescence to allow time to fully explore gender health options.” … read full article
Ms. Davis' points are well taken - do we really have to abandon Democrats in order to combat gender ideology? Regrettably the answer is yes. but as she alludes - this is all part of the process where more and more people realize that gender ideology is a harmful fraud. part of this process is what Ms Davis describes - the development of a middle ground and all that. This will go as swimmingly as the Oslo Accords. the more realistic development of a middle ground will occur in the form of Democrats losing elections. As long as Orange Devil isnt elected to anything, this is a price we all have to pay. A women can always travel to another state to obtain abortion services. but once kids are sterilized and harmed in many other permanent ways, theres no contingency.
