US - Social contagion, not biology, is causing transgender surge

The social push to make gender confusion trendy and cool has resulted in more children becoming gender-confused or, at the very least, pretending to be so they can receive validation from “tolerant” adults.
Data posted to Twitter from Montgomery County Public Schools helpfully illustrate this phenomenon. According to voluntary response surveys during the 2019-20 school year, 35 students in the MCPS system claimed to be gay or transgender. That number rose to 108 in the 2020-21 school year (when the pandemic started) and 239 in the 2021-22 school year before falling back to 41 in the 2022-23 school year. The school says the data are not meant to be scientific in any way. … read full article
UK - Genspect Explainer: Drastic increase in ‘affirmative care’ for minors, Reuters
From Genspect (UK)
By Genspect
October 12, 2022
On October 6th 2022, Reuters published a ground-breaking article highlighting the drastic increase in children identifying as transgender and seeking gender ‘affirmative care’ between 2017 and 2021. Reuters worked with health technology company Komodo Health Inc to determine how many youths have sought and received ‘gender affirming’ care during that period in the US.
This first graph shows that the number of children receiving a gender dysphoria diagnosis has nearly tripled from 15,172 in 2017 to a staggering 42,167 in 2021. According to Reuters, this data is backed up by state-level data obtained via Medicaid, which showed similar trends in the number of children now claiming a transgender identity. These numbers do not include children who have not sought a social or medical transition or treatment; therefore, the number of children in the US influenced by trans discourse is likely much higher than the 42,167 reported here.

US - Suppression Campaign
The American Medical Association asks the federal government to prosecute critics of radical gender medicine.
From City Journal (USA)
By Christopher F. Rufo
October 12, 2022
Last week, the American Medical Association, the Children’s Hospital Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics sent a letter to U.S. attorney general Merrick Garland requesting that the Department of Justice “take swift action to investigate and prosecute” “high-profile users on social media” who have allegedly created a “campaign of disinformation” against children’s hospitals that offer “gender-affirming health care,” leading to threats and harassment, including a bomb-threat hoax at Boston Children’s Hospital.
The letter poses three significant problems. First, the medical associations obscure the radical nature of so-called “gender-affirming care.” The basic facts, which have caused justifiable public outrage, are well-established: according to the medical literature, American doctors have been administering puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and experimental gender surgeries on minors—including double-mastectomies for girls, which involves surgically removing the breasts, and vaginoplasties for boys, which involves surgically removing the penis and turning the tissue into an artificial vagina. Despite what trans activists have insisted, the medical evidence to support these procedures for minors is thin, weak, and contested. Medical authorities in Europe have recently turned against many of these practices. … read full article

Disturbing commentary made at the American Academy of Pediatrics Conference has emerged after a Professor of Pediatrics appeared to “glorify” a minor’s tragic suicide while discussing “gender affirming care.”
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) held its annual conference in Anaheim this week, featuring four days of panels intended to be focused on the state of child-focused healthcare in the United States. But what should have been a gathering of professionals intent on improving the state of pediatrics has prompted outrage after one Doctor was seen giving a speech which appeared to lionize a teenager’s death.

Mermaids has repeatedly found itself in hot water, most recently after a board trustee resigned this month following an unearthed 2011 speech he gave to B4U-Act, a Maryland-based organization that promotes services to people sexually attracted to minors. … read full article

US - WATCH: Therapist Gets Sex Change Operations Approved in ‘As Few Sessions as Possible,’ Acts as ‘Ally’
Therapists should approve sex change operations in “as few sessions as possible” and also act as “allies,” said a clinician who writes referrals to allow people to undergo sex changes.

“The less sessions the better. I will typically do the session in one visit,” Sarah Eley, a mental health clinician and clinical supervisor, said in a presentation at the Advancing Excellence in Transgender Health. …
In a different clip, Eley argued that the role of mental heath providers who write surgical referrals is not actually to assess a patient’s mental health, but to help patients become eligible to receive the life-altering surgery.
Our role is not to question somebody’s gender or their choice to have or need to have surgery,” Eley stated, going on to say “our role is to really help them get to that next step in the process.” … read full article

UK - Politician Calls for Police Investigation into Trans Youth Charity
From Reduxx (UK)
By Genevieve Gluck
October 12, 2022
An elected official has called for a formal police investigation into a “trans youth” charity in light of recent scandalous revelations that sparked safeguarding concerns. Tory Member of Parliament Miriam Cates, addressing the House of Commons, briefly outlined recent issues surrounding Mermaids that have made headlines, and said it was “high time for a police investigation.” Prime Minister Liz Truss appeared to agree with Cates’ sentiment.
“Over the past week, serious safeguarding failures by the children’s charity Mermaids have come to light, MP Cates said. “For years, despite whistleblowers raising alarm, Mermaids have had unfettered access to vulnerable children. Does my right honorable friend agree that it’s taken far too long for these concerns to be taken seriously, and does she also agree that it’s high time for a police investigation into the activities of Mermaids and its staff?” … read full article

US - Transgenderism: A Desisted Teen’s Perspective
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
October 12, 2022
I hated myself ever since I could remember. I never fit in.
Throughout my childhood, I battled through years of being an outcast. I was different. I liked some “girl things” and some “boy things”, but for some reason I could never get along with the other girls. I wanted to—in fact it was all I wanted—but no matter what I tried, however hard I tried to present myself as a normal girl, eventually my true colors would be exposed. My friends would find out I was “weird”, and they would run away….that’s until I started to connect with male friends over gaming. Terraria was all the rage, and I’d finally found some people who didn’t think I was weird for enjoying it. I would go home and play it with one of my best friends, and those were the last truly happy times I can remember. … read full article

UK - What is a man?

Does anyone remember masculinity in crisis? In the not-too-distant past — say, ten years ago — everyone was panicking about it.
Hanna Rosin had just published The End Of Men, predicting that Plastic Woman — a creature able to adapt and move with the times — would win out over Cardboard Man, leading to the US becoming a matriarchy. As a mother of young sons, I couldn’t move for people recommending parenting books aimed at preventing my children from losing out in an age unsuited to their hardwired masculine instincts. … read full article
