QC compares lesbians refusing sex with transwomen to apartheid
Undoubtedly, one of the worst takes in the transgender debate
From The Post by UnHerd (UK)
By Julie Bindel
May 25, 2022
Yesterday, while watching the Allison Bailey case online, I heard one of the worst takes on the ‘transgender rights’ to date. Bailey, a criminal defence barrister, is suing her former chambers, Garden Court (GCC), alongside Stonewall, after claiming she was unlawfully discriminated against. Her crime? She believes that sex is biological and cannot change.
Bailey, a black lesbian, argues that GCC wrongly treated her views as transphobic. She is also claiming that her chambers, as a member of Stonewall’s Diversity Champions scheme, came under pressure from Stonewall to get rid of her. … read full article

A public school counselor in the Milwaukee Public School system is fighting back after the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) threatened to revoke her license following a passionate speech at a feminist rally in Madison. During the rally, which took place on April 23, Marissa Darlingh spoke out against “the harms of gender ideology” and giving children “unfettered access to hormones—wrong sex hormones—and surgery.”
The DPI issued a letter on April 29 informing Darlingh that an investigation has been opened to determine whether or not to initiate educator license revocation proceedings against her. The letter cited profanity in her speech, and claimed she is being investigated for allegations of “immoral conduct.” … read full article

The Sexual Revolution has failed Generation X women
More freedom won’t cure the disease
From The Critic (UK)
By Victoria Smith
May 25, 2022
Sex positive feminism is a bit like communism: to a certain type of person — one who has never had to live at the sharp end — it will liberate us all. It just hasn’t been done properly yet.
Come the true sexual revolution, there will be no violence, no exploitation, no coercion masquerading as choice. If, as Eva Wiseman recently wrote in the Guardian, we are currently facing an anti-sex backlash, it’s only because “we were never truly liberated”, not least because “the sex-negative feminism of the 1970s and 80s never really went away”. … read full article

Broad support filed at VA Supreme Court for high school teacher fired over pronoun policy
From Alliance Defending Freedom (USA)
May 24, 2022
RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia attorney general, physicians, feminists, legal scholars, and a variety of organizations have all filed briefs with the Virginia Supreme Court in support of a high school teacher fired for avoiding the use of personal pronouns to refer to one of his students. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys representing the teacher, Peter Vlaming, filed their opening brief with the court Tuesday.
The West Point School Board fired Vlaming, who taught French in the district for nearly six years, after he stated he couldn’t in good conscience comply with the superintendent’s order that he refer to one of his students using pronouns that were inconsistent with the student’s biological sex. … read full article

Earlier this week, UK MPs debated a public petition calling for the recognition of a ‘non-binary gender identity’ in law.
Towards the end of the debate, Mike Freer MP, a government equalities minister, delivered his speech. Mr. Freer is a well-known supporter of gender ideology, who has previously tried to push for a ban on conversion therapy that encompasses ‘gender identity’ (something the government has now, thankfully, decided against due to the significant potential unintended consequences). … read full article

How I was trapped by gender ideology
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By STEVEN A. RICHARDS
May 25, 2022
I became a male-to-female transsexual when I was only 15 years old. Bullying at school, instability at home, and a lack of close friends had left me looking for somewhere to belong, and the transgender movement happily provided one — at the cost of my health and sanity.
Living as a transgender woman left me delusional, paranoid, and sick. Despite this, I stayed transgender for eight years. The nature of the transgender movement makes it almost impossible to escape and pushes the people within it to adopt radical beliefs and irreversibly harm themselves. … read full article
SNP ministers fail to consider the impact of gender reforms on autistic young people
As many as a third of young people accessing gender identity clinics also have autism and campaigners say the removal of a formal medical diagnosis puts them at risk of making the wrong choice
From Scottish Daily Express (Scotland)
By Jessica North
May 25, 2022
The Scottish Government has been warned that its gender reforms overlook the "over-representation" of youngsters with autism or another type of neurodiversity.
Among the proposed changes to the Gender Recognition Act is the removal of a formal medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria before an individual may apply for a gender recognition certificate.
By removing this safeguard and implementing other changes like the drop in age to 16 and the cutting of the time applicants must live in their new gender to just three months, groups fear vulnerable young people will be at risk. … read full article

From The Oregonian (USA)
By Amy Wang

A Portland publisher is part of the controversy over a now-abandoned partnership between State Farm and a youth-focused organization that would have provided children’s books about gender identity to Florida communities.
State Farm agents were asked to distribute three books published in a collaboration between Portland-based A Kids Company About and Chicago-based GenderCool, whose mission is to present positive stories about transgender and nonbinary youth.
The nonprofit Consumers’ Research, which is highlighting companies that it says are “getting engaged in political issues and going ‘woke,’” posted a video Monday that accused the insurance firm of “targeting” young children for conversations about gender identity. … read full article
Ricky Gervais has broken the spell of wokeness
The trans ideology cannot survive mockery or scrutiny.
From Spiked (UK)
By Fraser Myers
May 25, 2022
In his new Netflix stand-up special, Ricky Gervais tells jokes about trans people, AIDS and Hitler. You can probably guess which he is in trouble for.
In SuperNature, released last night, Gervais jokes that he is fed up with ‘old-fashioned women’ – that is, ‘the ones with wombs’. You know, those ‘fucking dinosaurs’ and ‘fucking TERF whores’ who worry about women’s spaces, their privacy and their safety. He says he now much prefers the ‘new women’, with their beards and penises, who he says are ‘as good as gold’. … read full article

Ricky Gervais knew what he was doing and why he was doing it when he took on transgender activism in his new Netflix special, SuperNature. Three quarters of an hour into his set, he told his audience:
'I talk about AIDS, famine, cancer, the Holocaust, rape, paedophilia...the one thing you should never joke about is the trans issue. They just want to be treated equally. I agree; that’s why I include them. But they know I’m joking about all the other stuff, but – they go – ‘no, he must mean that’.' … read full article

Where are all the feminists? We’re right here, being erased by you
From Feminist Current (UK)
By MEGHAN MURPHY
May 24, 2022
Back when feminists began trying to warn about the dangers of gender identity ideology, few would listen. Not only that, but these women were actively silenced: blacklisted by the media, ostracized by the left, and no-platformed at universities. Those of us who did speak out were vilified and harassed. Our events were cancelled, venues pulled out, and we were met with protesters at every attempt to organize, meet, or discuss gender identity ideology and the threat to women and girls in particular. Our articles were pulled, as were our book deals.
We have covered this fight here at Feminist Current for many years now, when one else would. … read full article

A young woman asks Reddit: "I'm not sure about my gender. What is this called?"
Oh, oh, I recognize this: it's called being at an early stage of indoctrination into a body-modification cult!
This is how cultic groups operate. First, the cult dismantles everything you think you know about yourself, including the absolute basics: am I a man or a woman? Do I know myself or have I spent a lifetime in denial? Can I trust my sense of self? Should I listen to my inner voice or drown it out? … read full article
Detransitioner Perspective: Where do the doubts go?
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)

When I was a fourteen-year-old boy, I decided I was transgender. This was around 2012 or 2013, when the trans wave was still barely a ripple. My reasons will sound familiar to anyone who’s had experience with this phenomenon: I had undiagnosed autism. I was being sexually harassed in school. I didn’t have any close friends. Most importantly, I spent a lot of time online. That was where I was exposed to transgender ideology for the first time. … read full article
