Ed. note: Following are three different responses to a recent study of transgender children. All three are critical of the study but they highlight different points.
A Cause, Not a Cure
Though the New York Times touts its findings, a new study provides further evidence that “gender-affirming” therapy creates or prolongs the very problem it purports to solve.
From City Journal (USA)
By Leor Sapir
May 10, 2022
Last week, the New York Times reported on a “first of its kind” study purporting to show that a “vast majority” of “transgender children” continue to identify as transgender five years after they begin their “social transition.” According to the study’s lead investigator, Princeton University psychologist Kristina Olson, only 2.5 percent of the children tracked over that period reverted to the sex they were “assigned at birth.” An additional 3.5 percent identified as “nonbinary,” leaving 94 percent who persisted in their cross-sex identification.
But far from supporting the narrative that there are “transgender kids” out there who need to be “affirmed” to enjoy basic “mental health,” the Olson study actually lends support to those who criticize the practice of disfiguring and sexually incapacitating children as a means of offering them temporary relief from puberty-related distress—a practice known euphemistically as “gender-affirming health care.” … read full article
New study on transgender children reinforces social transitions
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By NICOLE RUSSELL
May 11, 2022
Few studies are available on the effects on children of social or medical transitions. That's because these procedures are still relatively new. The issue has also become so polarized and politicized, when studies are released, it’s difficult to find any that demonstrate a lack of bias.
But a new report was recently published with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Its findings suggest that young children who socially transition to a new gender, by changing their name, pronouns, and clothes, tend to continue to identify with that "new" gender five years later. The New York Times gleefully inferred that this means the right thing for parents to do when their child is questioning their identity is to begin socially transitioning them. … read full article
We already know the truth about detransitioning
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By DEBRA SOH
May 10, 2022
A new study in the journal Pediatrics is being propelled by the media as evidence that few children change their minds after socially transitioning.
The study followed roughly 300 children who had socially transitioned to live as the opposite sex. (Nonbinary and third genders were not as popular five years ago, when study data were first being collected, so these children had transitioned to live as either female or male.) At enrollment, they were between the ages of 3 and 12 years old, and approximately 12% had begun puberty blockade prior to beginning the study.
About 7% of the children changed their gender identity at five years post-social transition. An example of a change would be returning to living as his or her birth sex or deciding to live as nonbinary. In some cases, children changed their minds more than once. … read full article

Transgender Inmates Accuse California of Refusing to ‘Fully Implement’ Law Allowing Males in Women’s Prisons
From National Review (USA)
By BRITTANY BERNSTEIN
May 11, 2022
An attorney for a group of transgender inmates has accused California prison officials of refusing to “fully implement” a state law allowing inmates to transfer to a prison facility formerly reserved for the opposite sex, arguing that the officials “regularly violate” the law.
The law, SB132, took effect last year and was later challenged in federal court in November by the Women’s Liberation Front on behalf of four female inmates, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The lawsuit argued the measure would endanger female inmates by allowing men to pose as women. … read full article
ACLU Moves To Intervene In Chandler v. CDCR
The ACLU and other groups represent four incarcerated men who want to be housed with women.
From WoLF (USA)
May 11, 2022
On May 9, 2022, the ACLU filed a Motion to Intervene in WoLF’s California lawsuit challenging SB 132, which places men in women’s prisons if they self-identify as women. The intervenors are claiming that the state of California is unable or unwilling to fully represent the interests of their clients, and that they need to join the case as parties in order to defend their position.
Along with Lambda Legal and the Transgender Law Center, the ACLU foundations of Northern California and Southern California are representing four incarcerated men along with the Transgender Gender-Variant & Intersex Justice Project (“TGIJP”).

Stop Imposing Western LGBTQ+ Identities on Non-Western Cultures. It's Gender Colonialism
From Newsweek (USA)
By Paul L. Vasey (Professor & Research Chair, Department of Psychology, University Of Lethbridge)
May 11, 2022
In the National Geographic documentary "Gender Revolution," the journalist Katie Couric met with a group of LGBT students at Yale University who schooled her in contemporary Western gender terminology.
"Why are we suddenly seeing such huge changes in the way people are looking at their gender?" Couric asked.
"It's not new," one of the students told Couric. "I mean, people who might identify as trans, they've always existed in cultures for as long as we've had history and we find it now everywhere across the world." … read full article

From Fox News (USA)

Multiple doctors and therapists pushed back against Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine's recent assertion that "there is no argument" about gender-affirming care among medical professionals who specialize in children and adolescents.
Several medical professionals told Fox News they have seen rates of gender dysphoria skyrocket among young people in recent years, but that many of their colleagues are reluctant to speak publicly against transgender ideology for fear of both professional and personal retaliation. … read full article
When Did ‘Woman’ Become a Dirty Word?
The movement to ‘degender’ medicine amounts to erasure of the female sex.
From Wall Street Journal (USA)
By Patricia Posner
May 9, 2022
During my recent treatment for breast cancer, a nurse assured me that my “chest cancer” prognosis was promising.
“Chest cancer?”
“We try not to make anyone feel uncomfortable,” she said. “Everyone has a chest.”
“Well, it makes me—as a woman—feel uncomfortable. I have breast cancer.”
It was the first time I had personally encountered the effort to “degender” medicine. I thought this woke trend was limited to a small group of far-left politicians. Last year Rep. Cori Bush made a speech about “birthing people,” and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez referred in an interview to “a menstruating person’s body.” … read full article

The FBI found 15-year-old Sage on Sept. 2, 2021. She had been kept in a locked room, where she’d been held captive and trafficked for sex after running away from home just over a week before. When the authorities called her mother, Michele, they told her she and her husband Roger could pick her up the next day at Waxter Children’s Center, a girls’ detention facility in Laurel, MD, where she’d been sent after she was kept in the hospital overnight to administer a rape exam. … read full article

I’ve faced many dangers, but the screaming hate of campus woke warriors left me shaking with fear... JULIE BINDEL explains how female students are bullied out of hearing from feminists
In 2004 Julie Bindel wrote an article criticising transgender activists who tried to close a rape crisis centre which wouldn’t include transwomen as counsellors
She received criticism and abuse when she gave a speech on feminism at York University, and was labelled as transphobic
She says that she will now be giving up on the university staff who enable behaviour that has prohibited female students hearing from feminists
From The Daily Mail (UK)

Even as I accepted the invitation, I knew there would be trouble. The moment it got out that evil, monstrous Julie Bindel was to set foot on campus at York University, it was all entirely predictable.
In the old, logical days, long-standing feminist campaigners like me would often be invited to universities by student feminist groups.
But in 2004, I wrote an article criticising transgender activists who tried to close down a rape crisis centre which wouldn’t include male-bodied transwomen as counsellors, and ever since I have been dogged by so-called progressives who consider me ‘transphobic’. … read full article

Woman Prisoner Repeatedly Groped by Fully Intact Male in Her Cell
From Twitter
By Dress the Emperor
May 11, 2022
I spoke to an incarcerated woman today who told me how a fully intact trans-identified male was put into her cell and proceeded to grope her repeatedly while she was sleeping. She woke up and found him doing this, reported it, and the prison staff did nothing about it.
Two days later she managed to escalate her complaint enough to get him removed from her cell, but he is still in the women's prison. She fears running into him again, as he is known to retaliate against people. Before prison this woman was already a survivor of sexual abuse, as are the vast majority of incarcerated women. None of them should he forced to share cells, showers, etc. with intact males.
This woman is very angry and wants to sue the state. She is waiting to hear back from a lawyer. Does anyone know a lawyer in WA state who takes on these sorts of cases, ideally pro bono? If so, please DM me.
