This day in Herstory: Coretta Scott King (née Scott), born April 27, 1927 (died January 30, 2006), was an American author, activist, civil rights leader, and the wife of Martin Luther King Jr. As an advocate for African-American equality, she was a leader for the civil rights movement in the 1960s. King was also a singer who often incorporated music into her civil rights work. King met her husband while attending graduate school in Boston. They both became increasingly active in the American civil rights movement. (more)

Can anyone reading this tell me why?

I am a woman. I have been a life-long Democrat, and before the past few years was proud to be so. The Democratic party used to be the party representing women’s rights, the party protecting children, and the party protecting gay and lesbian people. The Democratic party used to be the party of science, of truth.
These are all progressive causes, but the Democratic party has instead embraced a faux progressive cause, the delusional cult of gender identity ideology.
I don’t know if the Democratic party leadership really believes that human beings can literally change their sex. I kind of doubt it, because they aren’t stupid, and that is stupid and anti-science. I don’t know if it comes down to the powerful pharmaceutical companies making billions of dollars having bought you off.
Why did the Democratic party abandon women, when you stopped advocating for our sex-based rights, calling us “menstruators,” “cervix-havers” and even stripping the word “woman” from us? Why is the Democratic party advocating for violent males to be housed with women in prisons? Why is the Democratic party (rather unsuccessfully) gaslighting the public to believe that biological males have no advantages to females in sports? Why is the Democratic party, our own President who I voted for, advocating surgery, sterilization, and medicalization for children, many who are simply gay, lesbian, or otherwise gender non-conforming? Why is the Democratic party championing blatant homophobia, especially lesbian erasure?
Answer me. I dare you to answer me with a real answer and not more and more and more bullshit. Yes, I am angry. I am not going away. WE are not going away, and in fact we are growing in number, even though you desperately try to keep the truth about these issues from the media. We are not hateful people. We want all people, regardless of their beliefs (including a belief in gender identity) to be protected in every way. As you already know, you will lose in the midterms. You have chosen to die on this sword, and you are hurting people as well as destroying the Democratic party. Why? Can anyone reading this tell me why?

Call for women’s group chiefs to quit amid row over single-sex spaces
From The Times (UK)
April 27, 2022
The leaders of three leading national women’s organisations are facing calls to resign in the deepening row over trans rights and single-sex spaces.
Feminist campaigners are urging executives at Rape Crisis Scotland, Scottish Women’s Aid and Engender to “consider their positions” after being accused of failing to protect women-only spaces under the Equalities Act.
Frontline Feminists Scotland says the executives’ position on self-identification of gender had led to the erosion of single-sex spaces in refuges and rape crisis centres.

Exclusive to GBN: Labour MP breaks rank and declares 'a man has a penis and a woman has vagina'
Shadow Justice Secretary Steve Reed said 'of course he knows what a woman is' on GB News
From GBN News (UK)
April 27, 2022
A Labour MP appears to have broken ranks by telling GB News a "man has a penis and a woman has a vagina".
Various members of the Labour Party and even its leader Sir Keir Starmer have come unstuck when asked the tricky question of what is a woman.
Sir Keir refused to answer the question, stating "I don't think that discussing this issue in this way helps anyone in the long run".
And his deputy Angela Rayner deemed it "not acceptable" to ask a trans woman if they have a penis. … continue reading
Exclusive to REDUXX: Midwifery Students Taught How to Care for Males Giving Birth
From REDUXX (USA)
April 27, 2022
Students studying midwifery at a prominent University in the United Kingdom were taught that biological males can get pregnant and give birth through their penis before instructors hastily edited a workbook they were given.
Reduxx has exclusively obtained teaching resources from concerned students studying midwifery at a major University in Scotland. The students, who wished to remain anonymous out of concern for their careers, were initially provided biologically impossible instruction on giving care to males who were pregnant and in labor. The name of the University is known to Reduxx, but being withheld at the request of the whistleblowing students. It may be provided in the future if Reduxx is able to establish consent from all of the students involved. … continue reading
Fake feminists are the real MRAs
The Feminist Fix: Don’t believe the dudebros who claim to be on women’s side, but want to take away sex-based rights
From The Critic (UK)
April 27, 2022
There I was, innocently dropping male frogs into my witch’s cauldron at the weekend when an email from the newly launched Children & Family Party (CFP) hit my inbox. I clicked on the link to view the local election manifesto — with a heavy emphasis on the first syllable — and remembered how hilarious men’s rights activists (MRAs) used to be when they simply ranted on about women being inferior, selfish bitches. I look back on the likes of Families Need Fathers, and their superhero-clad successors, Fathers for Justice, with a kind of bemused nostalgia.
The poster family on CFP’s launch materials look like a cross between a relaunch of the Aryan Race Society and a teeth-whitening promo you’d expect to see at the dentist’s office. At the helm of CFP is Mike Buchanan, formerly the founder of the Anti-Feminism League in 2012, replaced the following year by the superbly named, Justice for Men and Boys (and the Women Who Love Them). … continue reading
Gender ideology is everywhere in public schools, and Biden wants it that way
From Washington Examiner (USA)
April 27, 2022
If your child attends a public school, you can be absolutely certain that he or she is being taught radical gender ideology. It does not matter whether you live in a red or blue state — this ideology has become so entrenched in the education system that it is everywhere, from Republican-controlled Texas to Democratic-run New Jersey.
That could change soon. Some red states, such as Florida, are passing legislation to weed gender studies out of the curricula and ensure that parents get the final say over the values and lessons to which their children are exposed.
But even so, conservatives are facing an uphill battle that starts and ends with the federal government. … continue reading

The shocked minister told colleagues about the incident, which happened in the last few months, at a highly-charged meeting of Tory MPs at Westminster last night.
Conservative chief whip Chris Heaton-Harris is investigating the shocking reports, his office has said.
A statement from the whips office said: "The chief whip is looking into this matter. This behaviour is wholly unacceptable and action will be taken.'' … continue reading
Joyce Activated, issue 3
From Helen Joyce (UK)
April 27, 2022
One of the most vexed questions for all of us writing about the sex’n’gender mess is that of “preferred pronouns”. Media guides from trans lobby groups and official regulators like IPSO—and also, unfortunately, the internal style guides of most mainstream media organisations—insist that journalists must refer to people by whichever sex they claim membership of, or even as they/them if those people deny having a sex or regard themselves as in some sense between the two. The earliest such style guides were written before the lunacy of catgender and emojiself, and their authors were quite clearly thinking of two specific situations: trans-identified people who pass pretty well as their “target” sex, meaning that references to them as their actual sex would feel jarring and might even endanger them; and people who passed less well but were clearly trying, making it seem unnecessarily “mean” to refer to their sex. … continue reading
Missouri lawmakers move forward with bills targeting transgender youth health care, sports
From ABC News (USA)
April 27, 2022
Missouri has become the latest state to advance bills that target transgender youth.
The Republican-led House voted to push forward in a committee this week with HB 2649 or the "Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act," which bars physicians and health care professionals employed by state and local governments from providing “gender transition procedures” to anyone under the age of 18. It also prohibits state or locally-run facilities from performing the procedure on minors. … continue reading
Urgent: OHIO SAFE ACT is in Trouble (at the Hands of a Pro Life Republican Chair)
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
April 27, 2022
Ohio House Bill 454, The Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act, was introduced 5 months ago. The bill states: “It is of grave concern to the general assembly that the medical community is allowing individuals (children) who experience distress at identifying with their biological sex to be subjects of irreversible, permanently sterilizing genital gender reassignment surgery, despite the lack of studies showing that the benefits of such extreme interventions outweigh the risks.” … continue reading
Helping LGBT Activists Isolate Children From Their Parents Puts The Kids In Grave Danger
There is simply no reason a school official should provide materials to a student without a parent’s knowledge.
From The Federalist (USA)
April 27, 2022
In yet another public display against parental rights and keeping parents informed about what their children are learning in schools, LGBT activists are condemning the passage of a new Oklahoma bill they claim would “out” LGBT children. Activists have positioned the argument once again as LGBT children against their own parents. LGBTQ Nation’s headline states: “Oklahoma bill that could require school counselors to out students advances,”
The bill, SB615, has been hotly debated, with even Republican representatives suggesting its potential “harm.” Republican state Sen, Brenda Stanley argued, “My concern is that we do not break that confidentiality agreement that we have with children.” … continue reading

Greens council candidate says women should ask trans people where to buy 'black market' HRT drugs
Heather Herbert, a transgender Greens candidate in Aberdeen, said trans people can help women access "less dodgy" drug sites despite the NHS warning it is not safe to do so.
From Scottish Daily Express (Scotland)
April 27, 2022
A Scottish Greens candidate for Aberdeen City Council has suggested women struggling with the shortage in menopause medication get in touch with trans people who can help them buy it off the "black market".
The Kincorth/Nigg/Cove hopeful Heather Herbert said that as a transgender-identified person herself she would be able to help vulnerable women access "less dodgy sites" to buy the drugs but some women have been outraged by the suggestion.
Its thought that transgender people have knowledge of accessing online hormone therapy however buying medication online without a prescription is fraught with risk, and the NHS explicitly advises against it as it is "potentially unsafe". … continue reading
Biology MUST come first in trans debate and is 'critically important' to Government policy on contoversial issue, Rishi Sunak says
Chancellor Rishi Sunak finally came out with a stance on trans issues
He said biology must be primary policy driver when it comes to legal matters
It'd cover issues like gender-neutral toilets and transgender women in sport
Mr Sunak also confirmed he ‘absolutely’ shared Mr Johnson’s view on the matter
From Daily Mail (UK)
April 27, 2022
The Chancellor has said that biology must be the primary policy driver when it comes to laws around gender-neutral toilets and transgender women competing in sport.
Mr. Sunak – who has previously avoided directly commenting on the issue – told a Mumsnet user that women’s rights and trans rights should both be respected, but stressed: ‘I’m of the view that biology is important – it’s fundamental, it’s critical to how we approach those type of questions.’
The Chancellor’s latest line appears to be more definitive than when he was questioned last month. … continue reading
