This day in Herstory: Stefanie Maria "Steffi" Graf, born June 14, 1969, is a German former professional tennis player. She was ranked world No. 1 for a record 377 weeks and won 22 major singles titles, the second-most since the start of the Open Era in 1968 and third-most of all-time (behind Margaret Court's 24 and Serena Williams' 23). In 1988, Graf became the first tennis player to achieve the Golden Slam by winning all four major singles titles and the Olympic gold medal in the same calendar year. Furthermore, she is the only tennis player, male or female, to have won each major tournament at least four times. (more)
The Billionaire Family Pushing Synthetic Sex Identities (SSI)
The wealthy, powerful, and sometimes very weird Pritzker cousins have set their sights on a new God-like goal: using gender ideology to remake human biology
From Tablet Magazine (USA)
By JENNIFER BILEK
June 14, 2022
One of the most powerful yet unremarked-upon drivers of our current wars over definitions of gender is a concerted push by members of one of the richest families in the United States to transition Americans from a dimorphic definition of sex to the broad acceptance and propagation of synthetic sex identities (SSI). Over the past decade, the Pritzkers of Illinois, who helped put Barack Obama in the White House and include among their number former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, current Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and philanthropist Jennifer Pritzker, appear to have used a family philanthropic apparatus to drive an ideology and practice of disembodiment into our medical, legal, cultural, and educational institutions. ... read full article
Women’s rights shouldn’t be up for debate
MPs need to stop questioning the rights of biological women
From The Critic (UK)
By Josephine Bartosch
June 14, 2022
Yesterday, Conservative Elliot Colburn MP led his fellow politicians in what might be best described as a story time session in Westminster. Members of parliament, overwhelmingly from the “C-list”, met to discuss the government’s decision to exclude “gender identity” from the proposed ban on conversion therapy. Tales told followed a familiar pattern with trans people cast as brave heroes, heroines and “themorines” battling a mean minority of baddies who insist facts matter more than feelings. Labour MP Luke Pollard and Tory MP Alicia Kearns deserve special mentions for orating with the dewy-eyed fervour of coke-fuelled celebs doing a television charity fundraiser.
The debate was prompted by a petition entitled “Ensure Trans people are fully protected under any conversion therapy ban” which gained 145,000 signatures. Colburn solemnly reminded his colleagues that the debate was not about “access to single-sex spaces, trans women in sport, trans women in prisons”. … read full article
Statue of Penised “Woman” Displayed in Switzerland
From REDUXX (USA)
By Genevieve Gluck
June 14, 2022
A statue being displayed at Switzerland’s Art Basel event is being described as the “first ever sculpture depicting a nude trans woman.” The figure, based on a 3D-scan of the artist’s body, depicts a naked man with male genitalia standing on a pedestal with the word “woman” carved prominently at the base.
The display was designed by American trans-identified male activist Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo, who uses the moniker “Puppies Puppies” and will be publicly installed at the intersection of Freie Strasse and Bäumleingasse in Basel. … read full article
When being politically correct at work depletes employees and backfires at home
From LSE Business Review (UK)
By Joel Koopman and Klodiana Lanaj
June 14, 2022
Avoiding potentially divisive language and encouraging tolerance are critical steps to creating an inclusive work environment, but they carry a downside. Being politically correct can deplete employees and lead them to act both angrily towards and withdraw from their spouse that evening at home. Joel Koopman, Klodiana Lanaj, and colleagues write that the depletion that employees feel after being politically correct is problematic and should be of concern to managers.
Recent years have been characterised by an interesting dichotomy in how we relate to others at work. On the one hand, many of us are aware of the need to be inclusive and understanding of others’ perspectives, ideologies, and worldviews—something that is particularly important as the workforce becomes increasingly diverse. This awareness may motivate us to be sensitive to the needs of our co-workers. … read full article
School Nurse, 77, Fired After Exposing School for Putting Child on Puberty Blockers
From Women Are Human (Canada)
By Diana Shaw
June 14, 2022
US — Hartford, Connecticut. A school nurse was suspended for expressing “inappropriate” and “hateful rhetoric” and “values totally inconsistent” with a Connecticut public school’s stance after revealing in a Facebook group: “I have an 11yo female student on puberty blockers and a dozen identifying as non-binary, all but two keeping this as a secret from their parents.”
The controversy was sparked after Kathleen Cataford, aged 77, advised parents in the Connecticut Mom’s Club Facebook group:
Buyer beware. Investigate the school system curriculum … CT is a very socially liberal, gender confused state . . . As a public school nurse, I have an 11 yo female student on puberty blockers and a dozen students identifying as non-binary, all but two keeping this a secret from their parents with the help of teachers, SSW [social service worker] and administration. … read full article

For many ROGD parents, for various reasons, the realization that we can’t or shouldn’t take our children out of their propagandized public school can add desperation to an already desperate situation. Most of us would like to hop on a rocket ship with our kids and get the hell out of here altogether. But the reality is that even in the face of such a heavy and mind bending socially sanctioned calamity, life goes on. And as it should. If we can’t board that rocket ship, buy an RV and road-school our kids or realistically homeschool without losing the house to the bank, then we have to find another way to keep them safe. ... read full article

Women are having their cycling podium places stolen from under their noses by trans-identified men
From The Critic (UK)
By Jean Hatchet
June 14, 2022
Last weekend a cycling event called Thundercrit took place at Herne Hill Velodrome. The organisers stress that the race “strives to be inclusive”. They’ve created two categories in the race (formerly the “men’s race” and “women’s race”) and called them “Thunder” and “Lightning” with a bizarre set of race category descriptions allowing for self-identification into either race.
Thundercrit states that, “we realised that binary race categories are no longer fit for purpose”. Their women’s race is now, therefore, open to anyone “whose physical performance aligns most closely with cis-women”. ... read full article
Pro-porn feminists can’t tell the truth
Any honest portrait of the industry reveals its brutality
From UnHerd (UK)
By ANN MANOV
June 15, 2022
Should porn be banned? The question would have seemed a perfectly reasonable one during the post-1968 “Porn Wars”, when prominent feminists such as Andrea Dworkin and Catharine MacKinnon drafted anti-pornography ordinances that passed in major cities — before being struck down as violations of free speech. Seen as dependent on the physical exploitation of often poor women, and a core driver of violence against them, pornography was one of the National Organisation for Women’s “Big Four” issues. In Robin Morgan’s words: “Pornography is the theory, and rape is the practice.” ... read full article

June 14, 2022
Today’s post is a reprint of an exchange that the wonderful Abigail Shrier and I had on LetterWiki in 2020. LetterWiki no longer exists, but the conversation between Abigail and myself continues to interest readers. To facilitate access, I am reprinting it here, with Abigail’s gracious consent. The original is also archived here.
Abigail, of course, literally wrote the (or at least a, but it seems that it is likely the) book on the topic that we explore in the exchange to follow: Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters. I highly recommend this book. I also highly recommend Abigail’s Substack, The Truth Fairy. I am grateful and proud to be standing next to her in this cultural moment. ... read full article

I have no sensation in my crotch region at all.
You could stab me with a knife and I wouldn't know. The entire area is numb, like it's shell shocked and unable to comprehend what happened, even 4 years on.
I tore a sutra 4 days post recovery, they promised to address it, i begged them in emails to fix it, they scorned me instead. … read full thread
Americans overwhelmingly oppose transgender athletes in female sports, poll shows
Two-thirds of Americans say transgender girls 'have a competitive advantage' over biological girls in youth sports

The majority of Americans believe that greater social acceptance of transgender people is good for society, but they overwhelmingly reject transgender women being permitted to compete in sports against biological women, according to a new poll.
A Washington Post-University of Maryland survey released Tuesday asked a random national sample of adults whether they think "transgender women and girls should or should not be allowed to compete in sports with other women and girls at each of the following levels." … read full article
Progressivism, Sexuality, and Mental Illness
Is contemporary liberal-left culture producing greater mental distress?
From Quillette (Australia)
By Eric Kaufmann
June 14, 2022
Will America be entirely gay in a few generations? Will everyone be mentally ill? It would appear so from a straight-line extrapolation of the stunning rise in both LGBT identification and mental illness among young Americans.
Let’s begin with trends in sexual orientation among young people. A recent Gallup survey found that: “Roughly 21% of Generation Z Americans who have reached adulthood—those born between 1997 and 2003—identify as LGBT. That is nearly double the proportion of millennials who do so, while the gap widens even further when compared with older generations.” Abigail Shrier, meanwhile, reports a 1,000-fold increase in trans identification. ... read full article
Uninformed Consent
What do consent forms in pediatric gender medicine really say?
From justdad7’s Newsletter (Canada)
By justdad7
June 14, 2022
Medical transition of children and adolescents has been increasing exponentially for the last ten years. Not surprisingly, this has now led to a huge increase in detransition and regret as more young gender patients reach their twenties. These young people are going to be looking for answers to the question of how they were allowed to change their bodies permanently before their minds were fully developed. One of the places they will look is the informed consent documents which they and their parents signed to start the process.
This form used by the Gender Pathways Service of the London Health Sciences Centre is an example of the state of informed consent in Canada. It is for administration of Lupron Depot for suppression of puberty in a natal girl. … read full article

What’s Possessed Us? “The Story Paradox” by Jonathan Gottschall
From Areo Magazine (UK)
By Dennis James Junk
June 14, 2022
Many movies feature characters with dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder. But when researchers combed through all the psychiatric records from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries for a report published in 1944, they only turned up a total of 76 cases. Then, between 1985 and 1995, the number spiked to almost 40,000. Something similar happened around the same time with the still more dubious phenomenon of demonic possession. Exorcisms almost never occurred in the United States prior to 1973, when demand suddenly skyrocketed. What could have caused these sudden epidemics of severe mental distress? It’s probably no accident that the movie Sybil, featuring Sally Field in the role of a patient with sixteen different personalities, hit the theatres in 1976, three years after the premiere of The Exorcist. … read full article
The mother who cries in silence: the story of one of us

June 14, 2022
The Experience of a Mother
I am a 43-year-old mother, raised free, almost anarchic, anti-political and with the strong conviction of having to challenge any sexist stereotype imposed by society. I also raised my two children in this way, in the freedom of expression, style and personality.
My youngest daughter, who is now almost 16, is my miracle. When she was born, at 27 weeks of gestation, she weighed only 810 grams; she remained in intensive care for months and the hopes the doctors gave us were low. But she was fighting, she wanted to live, and I didn't leave her alone one day. In the hospital they called me "the mother who cries in silence". ... read full article
