As I Found Out with My Daughter, Not Even Catholic Schools Are Safe Havens from Gender Ideology
From The Daily Signal (USA)
By Charlie Jacobs
January 25, 2022
My husband and I looked to a Catholic school to be an ally in our fight to break our daughter free from the grip of gender confusion. We were naive.
Our daughter, now 15, was 13 when she was coached into believing that she was born in the wrong body and could change to be the opposite sex. This led her to self-loathing.
But instead of finding a partner within the Roman Catholic Church, we discovered that our local Catholic high school had adopted procedures that promote transgenderism. This situation has left us with no safe place to educate our child and a profound feeling of disappointment and abandonment. … read full article
Indiana Lawmakers Propose Banning Transgender Athletes From Women's Sports
Representatives from the ACLU have vowed to file a lawsuit if the “hateful legislation” is signed into law.
From HuffPost (USA)

January 25, 2022
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana lawmakers advanced a Republican-backed bill Monday that would ban transgender women and girls from participating in school sports that match their gender identity.
The bill would prohibit students who were born male but identify as female from participating in a sport or on an athletic team that is designated for women or girls. But it wouldn’t prevent students who identify as female or transgender men from playing on men’s sports teams. …
Republican Rep. Michelle Davis of Greenwood, who authored the bill, said the purpose of the proposal is to “maintain fair competition in girls’ sports.” She supported an amendment accepted by the education committee on Monday that removes postsecondary education athletics from the proposal.
“I know from experience that female athletes deserve fair competition and an even playing field,” Davis said. “This bill will ensure just that — a fair and equal opportunity to compete — for Hoosier girls, now and in the future.”
The legislation would also establish a civil action for violations, and schools wouldn’t be subject to liabilities for complying with it.
Davis said the grievance provisions could be filed by a coach or an athletic director if a student on a team had an “unfair advantage” that was “blatant” or “extraordinary,” although she acknowledged that students who are excluded from playing sports under the legislation could take civil action, too.
Idaho state Rep. Barbara Ehardt testified Monday at the Indiana Statehouse that the legislation “is not about humanity or inclusion,” but rather “about competition and winning.” … read full article
Trans activists fight for gender choice on census
From The Times (Scotland)
By Mike Wade
January 26, 2022
Campaigners have started a legal bid to preserve “trans people’s human rights to dignity and privacy” in the face of an attempt to overturn planned guidance on self-identifying gender in the next census.
Scottish Trans, part of Equality Network, has been given permission to intervene in a case brought by Fair Play for Women, a feminist group that has challenged the guidance authorised by the Scottish government in a judicial review.
The preamble for the question “What is your sex?” in Scotland’s census says: “If you are transgender the answer you give can be different from what is on your birth certificate. You do not need a gender recognition certificate.” … read full article
ESPN finally publishes a story about the Penn transgender swimmer
From The Washington Examiner
by Christopher Tremoglie
January 25, 2022
Ever since the story broke of the University of Pennsylvania's transgender swimmer, Lia Thomas, ESPN has remained conspicuously silent.
Even as the story made national headlines, even after I personally interviewed a female swimmer complaining about this biologically male swimmer robbing opportunities from women, ESPN ignored what was occurring in women’s collegiate athletics. That is until this weekend, when they finally published this article.
The entire country is talking about how biological men competing in female sports are taking away opportunities from women. But you wouldn't know from reading the worldwide leader in sports, which just came out with guns blazing, defending those biological men.
There was nothing in the article about female athletes who lose their opportunities because of males with gender dysphoria and massive biological athletic advantages over them. There was nothing about how a male could break all the sporting records of legitimate female athletes. It was a typical puff piece about the difficulties facing transgender athletes and the potential challenges they face in the future.
Granted, ESPN has the right to publish material from whatever viewpoint or perspective it chooses. But one would think, given the sports network's previous declarations of allegiance to women, it would actually, you know, defend women. Instead, ESPN opted to prioritize males with gender dysphoria over women's equality.
It’s further proof of what a Penn swimmer told me in our interview: “Women are now third-class citizens.” … read full article
