US - Michigan Is Hiding A Children’s Constitutional Right To Genital Amputation In Its Abortion Amendment

From The Federalist (USA)
By MARGOT CLEVELAND
October 12, 2022
In less than one month, if Proposal 3 passes, children will have a right under the Michigan constitution to walk into one of Planned Parenthood’s 12 so-called “gender affirming” facilities in the state and, without parental knowledge or consent, obtain puberty blockers. And with Planned Parenthood of Michigan promising “gender affirming” care “via telehealth in the coming months,” Michiganders’ kids won’t even need to leave their house to obtain these sterilizing drugs.
Passage of Prop 3 will also give boys a constitutional right to be castrated and girls the right under Michigan’s constitution to be sterilized by way of a hysterectomy or the removal of their ovaries — all without their parents’ consent. … read full article
US - Biden expanding access to taxpayer-funded 'gender-affirming care' for federal employees
President Biden promoted gender-transition treatments as 'life-saving care' after GOP tried to ban hormone therapy for minors
From Fox News (USA)
By Patrick Hauf
October 13, 2022
The Biden administration is expanding the range of taxpayer-financed "gender-affirming" health care options available to federal employees, starting in 2023, according to an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) explanation of federal benefits released in late September.
"OPM continues to focus on ways our Carriers can improve access to gender-affirming care for transgender and gender diverse individuals," the agency said.
The expansion of this care comes just after the national debt hit $31 trillion and fiscal year 2022 ended with an estimated budget deficit of $1.4 trillion. OPM said health care costs for federal employees is contributing to the increased debt load – premiums under the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program are expected to rise an average of 7.2% next year, and the government is expected to face a cost increase of about that amount. … read full article

US - A religious freedom lawsuit against transgender activist orthodoxy
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By Nicole Russell
October 13, 2022
An employee of a health system in Michigan was fired for requesting a religious exemption to demands about transgender language and hormone blockers. Now, she's fighting back with a lawsuit.
On Tuesday, Valerie Kloosterman, a 17-year physician assistant at the University of Michigan Health-West, says the nonprofit organization violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 when it denied her a religious accommodation and fired her. The university nonprofit group recently started requiring all employees to use preferred pronouns for transgender patients and even be willing to prescribe hormone blockers. Even though Kloosterman had never had a patient who wanted hormone blockers or who had asked to be addressed with a different pronoun, and even though she knew of other colleagues who received all kinds of other personal accommodations, Kloosterman alleges she was fired for requesting a religious accommodation. … read full article
UK - Why the trans lobby loves censorship
Twitter’s suspension of Maya Forstater is yet more proof that gender ideologues cannot abide any scrutiny.
From spiked (UK)
By Joanna Williams
October 13, 2022
Declare, in public, that you do not think a man can become a woman and you will quickly discover the limits that are currently placed on free speech. More than any other issue, it is transgender ideology that drives cancel culture, social-media bans, campus No Platforming and all the other forms of censorship that have become horribly routine features of public life. And despite powerful trans lobby groups like Mermaids and Stonewall finally facing some welcome scrutiny in recent weeks and months, this censorship continues largely unabated.
Just this week, Maya Forstater, who lost her job in 2019 for speaking out about women’s rights, has had her Twitter account suspended after she criticised Mermaids for its alleged safeguarding failures. Forstater’s offence was to have shared pornographic images that a former Mermaids employee, Darren Mew, had created and had previously shared himself, without facing any censure at the time. … read full article
UK - University free speech hit by ‘quiet no-platforming’ culture
From The Times (UK)
By Nicola Woolcock
October 13, 2022
A culture of “quiet no-platforming” and a climate of fear is constraining free speech at universities, a report has found.
Students are scared to invite speakers regarded by some as controversial due to potential abuse, a lack of support from student unions or the cost of security. Liam Neeson, Harry Enfield, Tony Blair and Tony Abbott, the former Australian prime minister, are among household names that student societies decided not to invite because of probable backlash.
The report by the Higher Education Policy Institute (Hepi) describes “quiet no-platforming” and reveals a domino effect of students acting cautiously because of the fallout from events at other universities. … read full article
UK - JK Rowling’s brave trans stand has been vindicated
Every day brings new reasons to thank the Harry Potter writer for fighting extreme gender ideology
From The Telegraph (UK)
By MADELINE GRANT
October 12, 2022
The transgender children’s charity Mermaids hasn’t exactly covered itself in glory recently. In fact, recent weeks may rank as the worst time for sea maidens since the mermaid-impersonating cleric Parson Hawker was shot at on suspicion of being a French spy while he sat singing on a rock in Bude harbour during the 19th century.
Last week, Jacob Breslaw resigned as a trustee after a newspaper exposed his links with a pro-paedophile organisation. Yesterday it emerged that Darren Mew, Mermaids’ digital engagement officer, had dressed up as a sexy schoolgirl and posted pictures of his genitals on social media. The Charity Commission is investigating Mermaids after a Telegraph investigation found it was handing out breast-binders to girls as young as 13, sometimes behind their parents’ backs. … read full article

References to Mermaids, which supports “gender variant and transgender youth”, have been deleted from a UK government list of mental health and wellbeing resources for schools as a precaution. … read full article

UK - Social Work England Discontinues Case Against Gender Critical Social Worker
Social Work England to discontinue case against social worker for “offensive” Facebook posts about Mermaids and “gender identity” policies.
From EBSWA (UK)

October 13, 2022
A registered social worker who is appealing against a warning issued by Social Work England (SWE) in 2021 has been informed that it does not intend to defend its position at a review hearing which starts on Monday 17 October. The official warning followed a complaint by a single person that posts by the social worker on her private Facebook page were ‘offensive’ and ‘disgusting’ because they criticised the concept of gender identity. SWE’s decision followed receipt of submissions on the case. [1].
The social worker concerned is unable to use her name as she is subject to a warning from her employer not to comment publicly. She will now be asking her local authority employer to remove the warning from her file and acknowledge that she has been the victim of an unfair process. … read full article
UK - What incels and trans activists have in common
Both have a visceral loathing for women’s rights.
From spiked (UK)

October 12, 2022
Surveying the sea of men surrounding the female speakers at a Let Women Speak event in Brighton last month, with their black hoodies, black balaclavas, black sunglasses, black bandanas and – for that stylish, finishing touch – black weighted gloves (serving the same function as knuckle-dusters), I reflected that it’s no coincidence that they resembled criminals seeking to conceal themselves from CCTV. It also struck me how much these young men have in common with their alleged enemies on the right – the ‘incels’. The ‘Black Pampers’, as an unidentified feminist wit dubbed them, want more than anything to stop women from standing up for their rights. Like the incels, these trust-fund Antifas want to return to a time when being male automatically meant being on top of the heap, even when sadly lacking in other ways. … read full article

It’s too late for centrism in the gender wars
From The Critic (UK)

October 13, 2022
Rejoice! Send forth for the Ocado delivery of Prosecco and release the canapes — Education Secretary Kit Malthouse has declared peace in the culture wars. More saviour than mere politician, on Monday the man who gave his name to the dimly remembered “Malthouse compromise” during the Brexit negotiations, told the Times he would introduce a “common sense” approach to trans policies in schools. Malthouse’s belief that he can stay standing whilst straddling intransigent positions is not just naïve and ill-considered, it is doomed to fail.
At present, most schools follow the line of the self-appointed “experts” in the booming equality and diversity industry. In its advice to schools, trans lobby group Stonewall is clear: “All schools, colleges and settings (including single-sex schools) have a responsibility to support trans children or young people through a transition.” This means that a student’s stated trans identity must be allowed to override the reality of their biological sex in all circumstances. … read full article

US - How To Make a ‘Trans Kid’
From Reality's Last Stand (USA)
By Colin Wright
October 13, 2022
Most people understand the terms “man” and “boy” refer to adult and adolescent human males, respectively, and that “woman” and “girl” refer to adult and adolescent human females, respectively. These are not “identities,” but terms that describe objective facts about one’s age and biological sex.
Gender ideology, conversely, is a belief system asserting that what makes someone a woman or a girl, or a man or a boy, has nothing whatsoever to do with their sex, but is based entirely on the social roles and stereotypes with which they “identify.” Therefore, a person who identifies with feminine roles and stereotypes is a girl or woman, and a person who identifies with masculine roles and stereotypes is a boy or man—regardless of their biological sex. According to gender ideology, people who do not identify with the social roles and stereotypes typically associated with their sex are considered “transgender.” … read full article
