Children's Hospital Providing Tucking With Sex Toy Store Contact Info
From REDUXX (USA)
By Anna Slatz
March 17, 2022
A top pediatric hospital in the United States is raising concerns after it was discovered providing "tucking" and "chest binding" information guides, one of which included contact information for a sex toy store that would make exceptions for minors.
The Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Oregon contains a gender services clinic that describes itself as providing "a full range of services for transgender and gender-nonconforming children and teens."
The clinic takes patients "through age 18," and states that it commonly begins providing medical gender affirming treatments around age 10, but that it is willing to create appointments for children and their parents before then.
On its website, the clinic provides a few official handouts -- but its those on "tucking" and "chest binding" that are prompting online criticism. The handouts appear to have been made in 2020.
Tucking is described as "moving the penis, testicles, or both out of the way. This makes the genital area look smoother and flatter." In the handout, the Doernbecher Children's Hospital provides information on how to flatten male genitals with tape, how to push the testicles inside the body, and notes that "some discomfort is normal." It also says that "people of all genders can tuck." … read full article (and SUPPORT REDUXX!)
Hospital told police patient was not raped because alleged attacker was transgender
Assault was confirmed through CCTV and witnesses despite previous denials, Lords told, as debate on single-sex wards policy continues
From The Telegraph (UK)
By Hayley Dixon
March 17, 2022
A hospital told the police that a patient could not have been raped because her alleged attacker was trans, the House of Lords has heard.
The attack took place a year ago and the woman reported it but when officers contacted the hospital, which has not been named, they were told “that there was no male in the hospital, therefore the rape could not have happened”.
Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, who raised the issue during a debate on single-sex wards, continued: “They forgot that there was CCTV, nurses and observers.
“None the less, it has taken nearly a year for the hospital to agree that there was a male on the ward and, yes, this rape happened.
“During that year she has almost come to the edge of a nervous breakdown, because being disbelieved about being raped in hospital has been such an appalling shock. The hospital, with all its CCTV, has had to admit that the rape happened and that it was committed by a man.” … read full article (web page archive)
Why Sweden is changing its gender transition policy for children and young people
From The Standard (New Zealand)
By Standardista Molly
March 18, 2022
In the last couple of weeks, Sweden has joined a small, but growing number of countries that have changed their policies regarding medical gender transition for children.
As inhabitants of a developed country with access to medical care, we often hold a high degree of trust in our political and institutional systems to collate, assess evidence, make decisions and implement policies based on evidential data and best practice.
As adults – particularly as adults who participate on political blogs, we know that trust is sometimes misplaced, and other factors interfere with the best outcomes.
There are protocols and safeguards regarding medical intervention that we assume. For children in particular, who may respond to adult tested medication in unknown ways, I believe it is important that specific studies regarding long-term use of puberty blockers, and cross-sex hormones are undertaken before it is considered a standard response to gender dysphoria or gender incongruence. However, it seems that long-term studies have not been consulted even in regards to adult use, and drugs are being used off-label as standard treatment of gender dysphoria or incongruence in children and young people.
WPATH is the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, and their guidelines are used to create health policies for treatment all over the world along with reference to the Yogyakarta Principles. But are their guidelines evidenced based? In another post, I will outline and provide links as to why I don’t believe that to be the case. But as the transitioning of children and young people is occurring – within NZ as well – and advocacy is strong for medical treatment for this demographic, I will focus on this discussion point for now in a series of posts, until all aspects I can think of have been identified and suitably linked to resources.
You can choose to ignore these posts, or sit back and get (un)comfortable.
Adults in Sweden are unable to get reproductive sterilisation surgery until the age of 25 as this decision is considered irreversible, and so unable to be cognitively understood in terms of impact and consequences until the brain has completed development. … read full article
Texas AG Ken Paxton misgenders Rachel Levine, a transgender federal official, drawing outrage
From Austin American-Statesman (USA)
By Niki Griswold
March 17, 2022
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton drew outrage but little surprise from LGBTQ organizations Thursday when he insisted on identifying Admiral Rachel Levine, a transgender woman and an assistant health secretary in the Biden administration, as a man.
Referring to a story listing Levine as one of USA Today's women of the year, Paxton wrote: "Rachel Levine is a man."
Paxton's tweet drew increased attention, and condemnation from LGBTQ groups, because he issued a written opinion last month that equated gender-affirming medical care with child abuse. That opinion in turn prompted Gov. Greg Abbott to direct the state's child welfare agency to investigate medical care for transgender adolescents as abuse. … read full article
There's No "True Trans": Suggesting Otherwise Undermines Our Message
From Advocates Protecting Children (USA)
March 17, 2022
Those of us who are gender critical come from all walks of life: conservatives and liberals, Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Jews. Men and women from all over the globe are fighting to protect women and children from transgender ideology.
Because of our differences, we don’t agree on everything. Sometimes we don’t even agree about what we are fighting against or what our messaging should be. What we do all agree upon is that transgender ideology is harming our society by encouraging those with gender dysphoria to dissociate from themselves and create a new persona.
It is important to be compassionate towards those who have been inducted into the cult of trans, but we must also hold a firm line on truth. Most of us recognize that those who have adopted a transgender identity are victims of an insidious ideology that has metastasized into nearly every nook and cranny of our culture. However, it is critical that we do not allow our desire to be kind to undermine our goal of defeating the gender industry.
We would never fight to save children from anorexia nervosa while concurrently proposing that adults who struggle with this deadly eating disorder be provided gastric bypass or liposuction. We would not advocate to stop children from being trafficked, but have no concern for trafficked adults. We would not fight to save children who are addicted to opioids, but say that it’s fine for adults to be addicted.
In the same way, it is critical that we acknowledge that no person is born in the wrong body. Not children. Not adults. No one. … read full article

Men who kill women shouldn’t get to define themselves
From The Critic (UK)
By Victoria Smith
March 17, 2022
Harvey Marcelin admits to having “problems” with women. That would be putting it mildly. Marcelin has spent more than 50 years in prison for killing two of them, and has recently been charged with the second-degree murder of a third.
You could say this presents a particularly stark example of men’s fatal violence against women. Although, actually, you couldn’t say that. Harvey Marcelin, who hates women enough to shoot, stab and dismember them, now claims to be a woman, too. Oh, well. I guess that, in this case, cutting a woman into pieces and leaving her torso in a shopping trolley isn’t a feminist issue after all.
If, as a feminist, you express outrage at newspaper reports describing Marcelin as female, you tend to be told one of three things: one, there’s no reason to think Marcelin is lying about being a woman; two, denying a trans person their pronouns just because they’ve committed a crime would be punishing them more than other people; three, highlighting Marcelin’s crimes is just a ploy to make trans people look bad.
You may have noticed something about these responses. Marcelin’s subjectivity — Marcelin’s truth — is very much a concern. The subjectivity of Marcelin’s victims, not so much. Of course, they’re not around to say how they feel, but I’ll make a guess.
I do not think the inner identity of a male perpetrator makes the slightest bit of difference when he’s sticking a knife into your body. It is the same male violence you’ve always known, that you’ve always lived with, since the day you were born female. That is your truth and it deserves to be respected in the same way we respect the truths of those killed by more “suitable” perpetrators. … read full article
Bill promotes California as US refuge for transgender youth
From AP (USA)
By Don Thompson
March 17, 2022
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California could provide legal refuge to displaced transgender youth and their families under a proposal announced Thursday that joins a growing list of initiatives from the nation’s most populous state aimed at counterbalancing actions in Texas and other conservative places.
Democratic state lawmakers said they will introduce legislation to offer California as a safe haven for parents in other states who risk having their transgender children taken away or from being criminally prosecuted for supporting their children’s access to gender-affirming procedures and other health care.
The measure is a response to moves in several Republican-dominated states and particularly Texas, where Gov. Greg Abbott has directed state agencies to consider removing transgender children from their families and placing them in foster care. A Texas judge last week temporarily blocked that effort, although the state is appealing.
California Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener said his bill would ensure that “California is a place of refuge for transgender children and their parents as a wave of criminalization sweeps through Texas and other states.” … read full article

Why York University de-platformed me
Supposedly, I am a safety threat
From The Post (UK)
By Julie Bindel
March 17, 2022
In January this year I was asked to speak at an event organised by York Free Speech, part of York University. I love engaging with open-minded students and I was delighted to accept the offer. The topic was feminism, specifically a critique of what I call ‘feminism for men’, which is currently the only topic that gets an airing at most universities.
I sat and waited. I knew that it wouldn’t be long before certain trans lobby groups tried to get me de-platformed. Almost every time I am invited to speak at universities, there is a massive fight between those that want to hear a genuinely feminist perspective, and those who think that my mere presence will cause the death of transgender and ‘sex working’ people on campus.
I didn’t have to wait long. A couple of weeks ago I received my first email from the University LGBTQ+ Network Committee accusing me of transphobia and telling me that I was likely to break the university’s code of conduct. ‘Our number one priority is the safety of the students,’ read the email, adding ‘as much as trans issues are something which can be discussed by everyone, we do not want this to infringe on the safety and well-being of students’.
I have no idea why they were emailing me as I had not intended to speak about the trans issue at all. It seemed that they were threatening me to keep quiet about anything that they might consider to be contentious. I told them I would be talking about feminism and refused to engage further. … read full article
Penn swimmer says Lia Thomas' participation 'ruins the integrity of the sport' ahead of NCAA championship
Thomas is one of 322 athletes who qualified for men’s and women’s championships this week
From Fox News (USA)
By Paulina Dedaj
March 17, 2022
University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas is set to participate in the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, but one teammate told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview that she fears the impact of her participation has "completely ruined the integrity of the sport."
The student, who spoke to Fox News on the condition of anonymity out of fear of retribution, spoke highly of her team’s accomplishments at the Ivy League Championships in Cambridge, Massachusetts, last month but expressed her disappointment in the decisions that allowed Thomas, a 22-year-old transgender woman who competed on the men’s team for three seasons, to compete against women with record-breaking performances.
"It’s not necessarily an achievement in my mind," she said. "Women's records are separate from men’s records. It’s its own distinct category because no woman is going to be as fast as a man, and here is just completely – we’re just throwing away the definition of a record to fit into someone else's agenda of what it should mean to them when in reality it makes no scientific sense to do so." … read full article
Stop blaming women for men’s crimes
No, it was not an 83-year-old woman who killed Susan Leyden. Stop lying to us.
From Spiked (UK)
By Brendan O’Neill
March 17, 2022
For a solid five minutes this week, I believed that an elderly woman in New York City had killed and decapitated another elderly woman. I believed it because it was in the papers. It was there in black and white. In the apartment of this ‘83-year-old Brooklyn woman’, the New York Times reported, cops found the decapitated head of Susan Leyden, a 68-year-old lady who had gone missing. Police became suspicious of the 83-year-old woman and so they ‘searched her apartment’, the BBC said, wherein they found ‘a human head’. A few days later, not far from this seemingly evil woman’s apartment, they also found Ms Leyden’s leg and torso. Grim. And surely unprecedented. When was the last time a very old woman was alleged to have killed and then gruesomely dismembered another woman?
Then it hit me. I got to the very final line of the BBC report and saw these words – this 83-year-old ‘now identifies as a transgender woman’. I got further into the NYT piece, too. Its headline may have said ‘She Killed Two Women. At 83, She Is Charged With Dismembering a Third’, but then came this killer line: ‘[she] was listed as male in earlier court records but now identifies as a woman.’ So it wasn’t a woman. It wasn’t an 83-year-old lady who somehow summoned up the wickedness and the power to allegedly kill and horrifically mutilate a 68-year-old woman. It was a man. The NYT’s headline was a flagrant lie. So was the BBC’s entire account of this ‘woman’, she, allegedly killing Ms Leyden and then brutalising her corpse. I had been told, in no uncertain terms, that a woman killed a woman, and it was completely untrue.
This is the horrifying story of Harvey Marcelin (the name should have been a giveaway), who has been charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse in relation to the death of Susan Leyden. Mr Marcelin has killed before. Women, of course. In 1963, he was convicted of first-degree murder for shooting to death his girlfriend in Harlem (‘she was convicted of first-degree murder’, the New York Times lies). In 1985, less than a year after he was released from jail, Mr Marcelin stabbed another woman to death (‘she pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter’ in that case, lies the NYT). And now he – he – is charged with murdering a third woman and scattering the poor lady’s body parts across Brooklyn. Yes, we must await the outcome of Marcelin’s trial for killing Ms Leyden, but we can say with certainty that this man, this male, this serial killer of women, is a lowlife. … read full article (and DONATE to Spiked!)
International Right to Truth Day on March 24th
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
March 17, 2022
March 24 is International Right to Truth Day. The United Nations proclaimed it in observance of the surviving families of people who "disappeared" during South America’s “dirty wars” of the 70s and 80s:
"The right to the truth implies knowing the full and complete truth as to the events that transpired, their specific circumstances, and who participated in them, including knowing the circumstances in which the violations took place, as well as the reasons for them."
In the Dirty Wars, trusted professionals and institutions betrayed the most vulnerable people. It is happening again, right now, all over the Western World. It is all the more shocking because we think of ourselves as morally advanced, even as we mutilate children and young adults to mimic crude stereotypes.
Society must defeat this Gender Ideology cult craze, and it will. But think past simply defeating it: a dangerous Gnostic delusion has destroyed the lives of countless young people, and it did so with near-unanimous institutional and media support. Think past victory and start thinking about justice and reform. Thousands of children were harmed psychologically and many physically butchered - even as they believed they were finding their “authentic selves”. We vow to never, ever let this happen to other children. So what will we do after we have defeated this cult?
THINK BIG. GENDER IDEOLOGUES DO.
Demand a Gender Truth and Reconciliation Commission. International human rights law gives us a framework for thinking about that, and a strong polemical position for demanding it. Forgiveness for the many, punishment for the worst offenders. But “the full and complete truth” in all cases. … read full article (and SUBSCRIBE to PITT!)
"Lia Thomas and the long tradition of 'gender policing' female [sic!] athletes"
“If a woman is good at sports,” she said, people feel a need “to question why that is.”
From Writing Behavior (Canada)
By Eliza Mondegreen
March 16, 2022
Thomas is male. That's not a value judgment (nothing wrong with being male) or a statement about how Thomas identifies (clearly nothing to do with sex). It's just a fact, one we've considered intensely relevant to athletic performance until about 10 minutes ago. Being male is why Thomas is shredding women’s swimming records, after an unremarkable career competing against fellow males.
If you want to make an argument for why some males should be allowed to compete in female sports (e.g., under the banner of ‘trans inclusion’), you're quite free to do so. That’s not what’s happening here. This framing is just wild and a brazen attempt to pillage the language we'd need to discuss the conflict over trans inclusion and fairness in women’s sports like grown-ups.
Abusing language like this is the rhetorical equivalent of salting the fields so nothing can ever grow there again.
The goal is not to use language to make the case for 'inclusion' over fairness but to abuse language to make the conflict unspeakable and unthinkable.
