We are sacrificing our children on the altar of a brutal, far-Left ideology
The medical profession is crumbling in response to radical transgender activists
From The Telegraph (UK)
By JORDAN PETERSON
June 16, 2022
…
I saw a video the other day featuring an American surgeon bragging that he had performed more than 3,000 double mastectomies on young women who had paid for gender reassignment, individuals confused – one might say encouraged – by those who profit from it into believing that their adolescent emotional trials can be ‘cured’, and happiness reign forever, if they subject themselves to this brutal practice.
And it is brutal – a process that often includes not only the aforementioned mastectomies but other appalling surgical processes: orchiectomy (that’s castration, in blunter language), the removal of the uterus, the demolition of the musculature of the forearm to make what is not a penis but must be referred to as such – all of that.

A Blight on the Presidency and the Nation
The Biden administration’s executive order encouraging “affirming care” and gender transition is final confirmation that support for procedures deforming and sterilizing children goes to the top of the American power structure.
From City Journal (USA)
By Leor Sapir
June 16, 2022
Yesterday, President Biden signed an executive order instructing his administration to examine what steps it could take to end “conversion therapy” for minors who identify as transgender. …
The order itself sweeps much broader than pediatric gender medicine, but that is surely its most controversial element. It should put to rest any remaining doubts over whether the medical scandal of deforming and sterilizing children in order to validate their “internal sense of gender” goes all the way to the top of the American power structure. It undoubtedly does. ... read full article
Give irreversible gender drugs at age 14, says transgender health group
Critics have accused gender clinics of sending vulnerable adolescents into the medical unknown too quickly
From The Times (UK)
By Lucy Bannerman
June 17, 2022
A global transgender health organisation has recommended that children as young as 14 should be allowed irreversible gender transition treatment, despite growing concern that medical interventions at such an early age may cause more harm than good.
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (Wpath), based in Illinois in the United States, is advocating for health professionals to allow children to begin life-changing treatment with cross-sex hormones at 14, two years earlier than it recommended previously. It also believes that girls should be allowed to have breast removal surgery as young as 15. ... read full article
The Other Side of the Trans Issue
A letter from a reader
From Glenn Loury (USA)
By Glenn Loury
June 16, 2022
Trans issues have come up several times in this space, but I haven’t devoted much sustained attention to them. To be honest, I’m still formulating a cogent response to the topic. But one thing I can say without reservation is that the enforced silencing of voices that would dissent from the progressive view of trans issues cannot be tolerated. In most areas of the mainstream media and within academia, anyone voicing views that are even mildly skeptical of the most radical trans practices—like administering puberty blockers to small children and performing surgery on teenagers—can find themselves drummed out of polite society. …
Frequent readers of this newsletter may be familiar with Elizabeth Hummel, who often contributes to the comments section. Elizabeth is very skeptical of the most radical trans practices and therapies, and she wrote in to tell me why. … read full article

The gist
Parents and patients at Australia’s biggest children’s hospital gender clinic have been told that the effects of puberty blocker drugs on the brain are unknown.
The latest newsletter from the gender clinic at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH) informs families of a new research project to try to work out whether these drugs, used to suppress the natural sex hormones of an unwanted puberty, also have effects on the still maturing adolescent brain. … read full article
The Science on Brain Development Rebukes Those Pushing Gender Transition on Kids
Adolescents with gender dysphoria should not be making decisions that lead to permanent, unnecessary surgeries, mutilation, and infertility.
From The Federalist (USA)
By JANE ANDERSON
June 16, 2022
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is currently considering publishing regulations that will push for potentially irreversible medical and surgical interventions for people with gender dysphoria in the name of health care. In April, HHS Assistant Secretary Rachel L. Levine stated “gender affirming care is medical care” and included children and adolescents in that equation.
Levine also reaffirmed a principle articulated by Hippocrates that physicians should do no harm. Can a physician provide interventions like potentially sterilizing hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents without doing harm? Research on adolescent brain development and decision-making indicates these two concepts are contradictory. ... read full article

Why does the mental health field insist on medicating gender nonconformity?
From BROADVIEW with Lisa Selin Davis (USA)
By Lisa Selin Davis
June 16, 2022
For Pride Month, a pediatric mental health organization, Child Mind Institute, sent out a newsletter about “celebrating our LGBTQ+ kids,” while supporting “their mental health and safety.”
Sounds good. But head over to their piece on gender dysphoria and you’ll see one of the enormous problems with this discussion: the conflation of gender dysphoria with gender nonconformity, a phrase which describes when a child does not perform the stereotypes associated with his or her sex. … read full article

In the poll of 1,200 New Zealanders surveyed this month by Curia Market Research, respondents were asked a number of questions around gender ideology in schools.

Something didn’t seem right to me. I had that feeling astronomers must have when they’re scanning the skies for black holes, looking for the point around which everything behaves strangely.
When I looked at trans activism, everything around it behaved strangely.
Maybe it started with “transwomen are women.” Whenever I asked what that meant, I found a great many people who either didn’t know or didn’t care what it meant and yet thought it was a very important thing for people to say they believe. ... read full article

Scottish female athletes will lose out on medals because of Nicola Sturgeon’s transgender reforms, former Olympians have warned.
Sharron Davies, the former swimmer, and Mara Yamauchi, the ex-runner, on Thursday told of their grave concerns at the impact that plans to allow people to change their legal sex by signing a declaration would have on sporting fairness.
The pair warned that women’s sport was already at risk of being ruined by male-bodied athletes competing in female categories and said that a state-backed endorsement for the concept of self-identification would only make matters worse.

These are the moments that haunt me. I do practice self-compassion, and we’ll never really know, but these are those that I can’t help but wonder, if I’d handled them differently, would the identity continue to steer our lives?

The Booklet: I can’t remember when exactly, but I’m pretty sure it was when she was in 7th grade. My daughter sheepishly brought me a booklet she’d made. She was forever creating characters, spending hours on detailed drawings with written character sketches below the artwork, lovingly compiling these into little booklets. This one was different though. Instead of the fictional characters for some never-written novel, these “characters” represented a wide variety of sexual orientations and identities that were all new to me; the descriptions were definitions this time.
