Among those awarded a British Empire Medal in last week’s Queen’s Birthday Honours was Stephanie Davies-Arai, founder of the website Transgender Trend that campaigns against the increase in children being referred to clinics for gender dysphoria medical treatment. Over the years I have been accused of wanting to ‘erase trans children’, of being ‘anti trans’ and worse. But my only aim has been to safeguard and protect children.
I don’t care what label anyone wants to use for a child, whether it’s ‘trans’ or anything else. My sole concern is whether it serves the child’s best interests.
When I first spoke out on an issue about which it seems increasingly that people are not allowed to question, I had no idea of the level of vilification and bullying I would receive. … read full article

Women have been betrayed by a culture of porn gone wild
The sexual revolution was supposed to liberate women. Yet the tragic life of Marilyn Monroe and the nightmarish world of violent pornography which today’s young women must navigate suggest otherwise
From The Sunday Times (UK)
By Louise Perry
June 3, 2022
Hugh Hefner and Marilyn Monroe, those two icons of the sexual revolution, never met, but they were born in the same year and laid to rest in the same place, side by side. In 1992, Hefner bought the crypt next to Monroe’s in the Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles for $75,000, telling the Los Angeles Times: “I’m a believer in things symbolic . . . [so] spending eternity next to Marilyn is too sweet to pass up.” At the age of 91, Hefner got his wish. The long-dead Monroe had no say in the matter. But then she never had much say in what men did to her over the course of her short life.
Marilyn Monroe was both the first cover star and the first naked centrefold in the first edition of Hefner’s Playboy magazine, published in December, 1953. “Entertainment for MEN” was the promise on the front cover, and the magazine evidently delivered on that promise. It was a commercial success from its first issue. … read full article

Who could ever have guessed they’d have such a thing for compelled submission?
I’ve always been a devotee of the New World monarchies, not least among them the presidency of these United States. Yet even I was a bit perturbed this week when the nominally reigning Joseph I issued his royal decree in observance of the new liturgical season.
The president warns therein that “the rights of LGBTQI+ Americans are under relentless attack… especially people of color and trans people.” (“LGBTQI+ Americans…especially people of color”—does Biden just have crappy writers, or is it gay to be black now, too?) He bemoans that “an onslaught of dangerous anti-LGBTQI+ legislation has been introduced and passed in States across the country, targeting transgender children and their parents and interfering with their access to health care.” … read full article

Florida moves to block transition healthcare for trans youth
From Washington Examiner (USA)
by Cassidy Morrison
June 3, 2022
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is overseeing a campaign to prevent young people from undergoing transition-related healthcare such as hormone blockers and sex reassignment surgery.
Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo urged the Florida Board of Medicine on Thursday to stop providing transition care for children and adolescents, a request he said was based on “a lack of conclusive evidence and the high risk for long-term, irreversible harms from these treatments.”
“While some professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Endocrine Society, recommend these treatments for 'gender-affirming' care, the scientific evidence supporting these complex medical interventions is extraordinarily weak,” Ladapo said Thursday. … read full article

Everyone has a favorite fad. The '80s gave us crimped hair and jelly shoes. The '90s, acid-wash jeans and AOL Instant Messenger. And the 2000s, Angry Birds, yoga pants, and the LGBT agenda.

As the nation marks the start of LGBTQ+ Pride month and 50 years since the implementation of Title IX, recent statewide polling shows most Oregonians say they support protections for gay and transgender students. Still, they're split on whether trans students should be able to participate in school sports that align with their gender identity.
Title IX is the federal law that prohibits discrimination in schools and federally funded programs and requires equal participation opportunities, regardless of gender. Historically, Title IX has helped ensure schools provide equal athletic facilities and practice time for boys and girls sports. … read full article

Making Light of Detransition
Their diagnostic tools are near-perfect, even when they don't use them.
From Void if removed (USA)
By Dave Hewitt
June 4, 2022
In May, a new study into detransition was published, titled “Gender Identity 5 Years After Social Transition”. This followed a group of around 300 socially transitioned children over a five year period and by the end found that only 2.5% detransitioned and were living once again as their birth sex.
This was widely reported as demonstrating that detransition is rare and past high rates of desistence are “debunked”, that the few who did detransition “did not typically find the process traumatic”, that for such children “affirming them for who they are can be life-saving”, and that social transition allows them “to explore their gender identity in an environment that ‘honors their authenticity and wisdom’”.
However, these do not tell the whole story, and it is worth digging into the paper to see what it actually showed. … read full article
