This day in Herstory: Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett GBE, born June 11, 1847 (died August 5, 1929), was an English politician, writer and feminist. She campaigned for women's suffrage by legal change and in 1897–1919 led Britain's largest women's rights association, the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), explaining, "I cannot say I became a suffragist. I always was one, from the time I was old enough to think at all about the principles of Representative Government." (more)

A thoroughly dishonest debate
From The Glinner Update (UK)
by Tom James
June 11, 2022
It’s hard to admit you’ve been wrong. Particularly if the belief you’ve chosen has led you to park your common sense and affirm not just its more deranged pronouncements and lies, but scrabble around for excuses when observing its most vile and irresponsible conduct.
Harder still if your own actions have led to the most egregious outcomes, promoting an ideology that causes undeniable real harm to others, and not some fluffball fantasy version of hurty feels. … read full article
The magical LGBTQ+ myth factory
The LGBTQ+ lobby is making up “scientific” facts to win arguments
From The Critic (UK)
By Malcolm Clark
June 11, 2022
When it comes to medical facts, who would you trust more — the Hershey company or the US Assistant Secretary of Health? Lately, I’m not so sure. At least when a few years back Hershey-funded researchers announced chocolate had health benefits most sensible people concluded … they would say that. But when Admiral Rachel Levine recently claimed that Republican bills preventing doctors giving kids puberty blockers would “drive people to suicide”, every mainstream media outlet quoted “her” reverentially. Yet the medical evidence Levine relied on is embarrassingly poor. Strange how a male who thinks he’s a woman doesn’t have a grasp of facts.
Levine justified the claim that puberty blockers and other hormone injections for adolescents were life-saving, based on a study by the Trevor Project which campaigns on suicide among young LGBTQ+ people. … read full article

I came across a YouTube celebrating Canadian people who identify as ”transgender”. One of them appeared in the BBC documentary on ”trans” children which I covered in my last piece. You can read that here:
Transgender Kids: Who knows best?
This is a short film put out for Pride month. The title tells us this will be medical professionals talking about what it means to be ”trans”. There is one doctor, one contributor is a psychotherapist and another has a background in sociology, the final one is an author with a naval background. … read full article
Advice turns schoolgirls into ‘pupils who menstruate’
From The Times (UK)
By James Beal
June 11, 2022
Government advice on free sanitary products in schools repeatedly referred to “students who menstruate” rather than to “girls”.
A document on the Department for Education (DfE) website detailed how providing menstrual products to girls did not disadvantage anyone under the Equality Act. Its wording angered women’s campaigners, however, who have warned of the dangers of alienating women and girls by using more inclusive gender-neutral language. … read full article

An inmate at the Central California Women’s Facility has come forward to reveal the disturbing ways in which they say female inmates are being ‘punished’ for expressing concerns about the trans-identified males flooding into the prison under SB-132.
“Under SB 132, these ‘trans-predators’ as I call them… they are just here to try and have sex with the women,” Sadiq wrote in a recent legal statement, “Even if it is true that they are at risk of violence in a men’s prison, this is just trading one victim set for another.” … read full article

Grassroots parent activism grows nationwide
From Washington Examiner (USA)
June 11, 2022
By JEREMIAH POFF
Grassroots parent activism, driven by outrage at school closures, critical race theory , and transgender ideology, has seen widespread growth nationwide almost two years after the movement first found its legs. …
"The grassroots enthusiasm we've seen over the past 18 months from parents has been truly astonishing — the last time I can remember anything like this forming was during the Tea Party," Nicole Neily, the president of the national organization Parents Defending Education, told the Washington Examiner. "From coast to coast, disenchanted parents have found each other and coalesced around a few simple, discrete ideas: Parents should be involved in their children's education." … read full article
Maryland mother blasts new education framework for explicit subjects
"Might I suggest that instead of anal sex we could go back to teaching cursive," she said.
From The Post Millennial (USA)
By Leonardo Briceno
June 11, 2022
In a petition to the State Board of Education, a Maryland mother is expressing her frustration at the direction of public education concerning sexually-charged topics.
Speaking against the instruction of sexual acts in the classroom, cross-gendered restrooms, and little willingness to discuss the issue, the mother blasted the state’s implementation of a new health education framework.
"I will always be kind to any person that I cross paths with and I will teach my children to do the same," she said. "But kindness does not mean rolling over and letting someone steamroll your boundaries. When you force your ideologies down the throats of others and then they push back, that does not mean they hate you. That is them telling you: 'this is the boundary.'" ... read full article
What if you're wrong?
The gender borg are wild with panic squealing about the LGB Alliance again. They know the game is up and soon they will have some pretty difficult explaining to do.
From Kavanagh’s Substack (UK)
June 11, 2022
The moral burden of biology denial is the obligation to be correct.
If you’re not, your legacy is deep scars on the bodies of the young, wrecked lives more generally, sacked women, corrupted public institutions and schools teaching cult-like drivel about gender souls. Social revolution is a high stakes game, imagine mutilating a generation of kids for nothing? So, if you’re going to push this dogma of course you have to believe you are not just right but quite unquestionably so. You can see that in the frenetic, wide eyed TicTok videos, the strain in the voices, the pleading in the facial expressions. This lot have to be right, (in their own minds at least), because the alternative is facing the truth that they’ve wrought a social havoc and a medical scandal quite without equal. So they gotta have faith. … read full article
New lawsuit alleges a Virginia school district is promoting gender fluidity and hiding it from parents
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By Nicole Russell
June 10, 2022
Some school districts are hiding vital information from parents about their children.
A group of parents and teachers are suing the Harrisonburg City Public School Board in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Per a new 2021-2022 school district policy, following a mandate by the Virginia Department of Education , the school district implemented the "Gender Transition Action Plans." This states that upon a student's request, staff must refer to the student with their preferred pronouns . The policy also prohibits teachers and staff from sharing information with parents about their child's request and suggests students' families will only be involved where it is deemed "appropriate."
A new lawsuit alleges that this policy "compels teachers to violate their religious convictions about gender and honesty. … And it violates parents' rights by interfering with their ability to direct the upbringing and education of their children contrary to state constitutional and statutory protections." … read full article
Beware of 'insider Scotland' and Sturgeon's New Model Army - Susan Dalgety
There’s something rotten in the state of Scotland. It’s not just the national stasis caused by a government pretending that next year we will strike for freedom from Westminster and vote to leave the UK.
From The Scotsman (Scotland)
By Susan Dalgety
June 11, 2022
It’s not just that that same government cannot make the trains run on time, properly educate our most vulnerable children, or even count its people. Nor is it even the malign influence of the worst Prime Minister in living memory that taints the body politic across our nation.
No, the stench of corruption that infects almost every aspect of Scottish life comes from civil society. That once proudly independent gathering of organisations that campaigned for a Scottish Parliament, that stood alongside striking miners and their families, that did not shirk from speaking truth to power. That civil society is no more. …
And right at the heart of this coterie of insiders sits the Church of Scotland, or that is how it seems after this week. … read full article

Our current ethical guidelines are hopelessly inadequate for a new era of unimaginable technological change
From The Critic (UK)
By Kit Wilson
June 2022
We’re entering an era of almost unfathomable, radical technological change. Elon Musk is getting monkeys to play Pong with just their brains. China is experimenting with genetically-enhanced “super-soldiers”. Neuroscientists in the States are developing “injectable nano-sensors” that can read our thoughts. Even the White House recently published a report discussing the “singularity” — the coming moment in time when “machines quickly race far ahead of humans in intelligence”.
Unless — as seems unlikely — all these technological developments end up coming to nothing, we’re quickly going to be confronted with a deluge of ethical predicaments. The twentieth century had the atomic bomb, the pill, and the internet. We’re about to get artificial intelligence, deepfakes, gene-editing, nanotechnology, bioweapons, brain-computer interfaces, and autonomous lethal drones — all at once. ... read full article
