Legislature tackles transgender sports issue
From The Miner (USA)
By Howard Fischer
January 22, 2022
PHOENIX – Rejecting pleas from parents of transgender children, a Senate panel voted Thursday to limit their participation in public or private school sports to the biological sex of their birth.
The 4-3 party line vote by the Republican dominated Judiciary Committee came after Matt Sharp, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, cited instances in Connecticut where transgender females defeated ciss-gender girls and women in sports. He said those born male have a biological advantage over girls.

Wokery beyond parody as university slaps a TRIGGER warning on George Orwell's 1984 as it contains 'explicit material' which some students may find 'offensive and upsetting'
From The Daily Mail (UK)
By CHRIS HASTINGS
January 22, 2022
As one of the greatest works in Britain’s literary canon, Nineteen Eighty-Four sounds a chilling warning about the dangers of censorship.
Now staff at the University of Northampton have issued a trigger warning for George Orwell’s novel on the grounds that it contains ‘explicit material’ which some students may find ‘offensive and upsetting’.
…
Tory MP Andrew Bridgen said: ‘There’s a certain irony that students are now being issued trigger warnings before reading Nineteen Eighty-Four. Our university campuses are fast becoming dystopian Big Brother zones where Newspeak is practised to diminish the range of intellectual thought and cancel speakers who don’t conform to it.
‘Too many of us – and nowhere is it more evident than our universities – have freely given up our rights to instead conform to a homogenised society governed by a liberal elite “protecting” us from ideas that they believe are too extreme for our sensibilities.’

Sex, trans rights and the Scottish census
From Spectator | Australia
by Stephen Daisley
January 22, 2022
It takes some doing to make a census interesting. So congratulations to the National Records of Scotland (NRS). NRS, which administers the decennial survey, is facing a judicial review over its guidance on the document. On the question of sex, it states that ‘if you are transgender the answer you give can be different from what is on your birth certificate’. That is, something other than your legal sex. Feminist group Fair Play For Women will challenge this guidance at the Court of Session on 2 February.
If this sounds familiar, it’s because similar guidance for last year’s census in England and Wales was challenged at the High Court and found to be unlawful. In response, the Official for National Statistics went ahead with a binary question on sex and an optional question on ‘gender identity’. Fair Play For Women brought the English case and is hoping to have similar success in Scotland. They want robust data on sex, not gender identity. … read full article
'Silence Not an Option': Activists Bat For Gender Sensitivity After 'Bulli Bai' Case
From News18 (India)
The ‘Bulli Bai’ case sent shockwaves through the country when it broke in the first week of January that doctored photos of over 100 Muslim women were put out on online platform GitHub allowing users access, so as to take part in an online ‘auction’. The heinous butchery of privacy and self-respect of these women, many of them journalists and activists, elicited outrage at the continuous and blatant violation of women’s safety. But for many, these voices had to have a platform, an outlet to speak up, to join a conversation around not just a one-time incident, but what has been a constant pattern of belittling, harassing women offline. But now, emboldened by the anonymity, the same is being done on online spaces as well. … read full article

Pastor forced out of job over tweet warning against exposing kids to LGBT Pride march gets day in court
From The Christian Post (USA)
By Nicole Alcindor
January 22, 2022
A British Evangelical pastor who said he was forced out of his job as a primary school caretaker after posting a tweet warning parents against exposing their children to nudity and sex at LGBT Pride events had his case heard this week at an employment tribunal in Cambridge.
Pastor Keith Waters' troubles began after he posted a tweet on June 1, 2019, that said: “A reminder that Christians should not support or attend LGBTQ ‘Pride Month’ events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Christian faith and morals. They are especially harmful to children." …
Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, said that what happened to Waters is the latest in a long line of cases where “honest, kind, normal people are subjected to harassment and intimidation for expressing moderate, mainstream Christian views on sexual ethics.”
“We live in a world where even questioning the LGBTQ agenda can land you in serious trouble,” she said. “This is another example of how far LGBTQ advocates are prepared to go to silence mainstream Christian views.”
“Anyone who believes in freedom of religion and expression should be very concerned about my story," Waters said …. "This was an attack, not just against my Christian beliefs, but against anyone who dares to question these matters in public. The biggest concern should be that a story like mine is becoming normal." … read full article

Democrats Like Me Are Furious with Our Party for Pushing Gender Insanity
From The Federalist (USA)
By Kara Dansky
November 16, 2021
It is not an exaggeration to say that the United States is in crisis about the meanings of the words sex and gender. We are all victims of this crisis, but the primary victims are women and girls.
Throughout U.S. law, the word sex is being completely redefined to mean “gender identity” or “transgender.” Congress is doing it. The Biden administration is doing it. The federal courts are doing it.
Most Americans have no comprehension of the implications of this, due to no fault of their own. Very few media outlets will permit us to talk about it. Yet feminists have been talking about it for a long time. The Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) has been talking about it since its founding in 2013 (I served on the board of WoLF from 2016-2020).
…
The mainstream media steadfastly ignores all of this and is engaged in a concerted effort to hide it from Americans. But Americans are waking up, due in large part to the steadfast work of radical feminists or, as some people might say, “TERFs.”

All of “gender identity” and “transgender” politics is a men’s rights movement intended to objectify women’s bodies and erase us as a class. The entire edifice is a lie. It is left-wing misogyny on steroids. … read full article
