This day in Herstory: Simone Segouin, born October 3, 1925, also known by her nom de guerre Nicole Minet, is a former French Resistance fighter who served in the Francs-tireurs et partisans group. Among her first acts of resistance was stealing a bicycle from a German female military messenger, which she then used to help carry messages. US - WPATH’s New Guidelines Promote Ideology Over Science
The most vulnerable suffer when we allow ideology to infect medicine.

October 3, 2022
On September 6, 2022, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) published their updated Standards of Care (Version 8). The organization was founded in 1979, and their stated purpose is to “promote evidence-based care, education, research, advocacy, public policy, and respect in transgender health.”
However, despite this ostensibly scientific and nonpartisan mission, there have been concerns over the years that the organization appears to act more as a partisan lobby group than an independent organization focussed on medical safeguarding. These concerns are further enhanced by the fact that the make-up of WPATH’s senior members, many of whom identify as “trans” or “non-binary” themselves, are extremely visible activists in this space. … read full article

A father in New York state is fighting for his child to be allowed to grow up. The child's mother, the medical industry, and the court are pressing for the 11-year-old to be permitted to take drugs that would disrupt puberty, potentially stunting her development and leading to sterility.
The father to the middle-schooler, whose is not named in order to protect his family, has been instructed by the court to call his child by the new, chosen name, new preferred pronouns, and to refer to the child as being of the new, chosen gender. Neither parent is allowed, under court order, to talk to the child about "anything gender related," he said. … read full article

"The Medical Establishment Failed Me"—People Are Coming Out To Share Their Regret In Transitioning, But The Media Claims Trans Regret Is Less Than 1%
More individuals are coming out each day to share their regrets on transitioning, even though the media likes to claim regret occurs in less than 1% of those who received gender-affirming surgery. What's the truth?
From Evie (USA)

October 2, 2022
There is absolutely nothing wrong with self-expression, embracing yourself, and being vocal about your identity. But when many young people are under the influence of the media, they begin to adopt other peoples’ forms of self-expression and ideas as their own. Their brains are still developing, after all. And the transgender movement, so pervasive in society – to the point where it has even caused gender identity issues in young people who weren’t experiencing gender dysphoria in the first place – has brought up concerns. If young people are making permanent decisions, what are the odds of them regretting their transition later on? Affirmation surgeries are permanent. Blockers halt the natural development of your body, causing physical problems. Lastly, the risk of regret is in both of these decisions, and society can’t continue to pretend that it’s not. … read full article

Over the summer, British police’s participation in Pride events gave rise to widespread public criticism. Many victims of often uninvestigated burglaries, thefts and robberies were left wondering why officers had the time to don rainbow flags and do the Macarena, but not to catch the criminals who stole their mobile phone or nicked their car.
It is a fair criticism. Home Office figures reveal that in the year to March 2022, a paltry 5.6 per cent of offences resulted in a charge and / or summons. It has also been revealed that only half of burglaries in London are now even attended by a Met officer.

Oklahoma lawmakers have passed a bill that would force the closure of a transgender youth health care clinic at OU Children’s Hospital by denying taxpayer funds to any facility that offers gender-affirming treatments to transgender youth.
The bill, which now headed to the desk of Gov. Kevin Stitt — who is expected to sign it into law — was passed on largely party-line votes in both chambers, with Republicans decrying any clinic that links minors with treatments that precede a gender transition. … read full article

Two Vermont high school girls did what few of their peers have dared: When a biological boy who identifies as a transgender girl entered their locker room, they asked that student to leave.
The Randolph, Vermont-based Randolph Union High School told the community in a Sept. 23 email that it is “launching a harassment investigation” —apparently into the girls’ conduct rather than the 14-year-old trans-identify student’s behavior, parents suggested. Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner accused the left of politicizing the transgender community, warning they are "driving this country apart." Jenner joined "Fox & Friends" on Monday to discuss a report alleging Vermont female high school athletes were banned from their locker room over their objections to a transgender student.
CAITLYN JENNER: The left has hijacked and politicized, yet another minority group in our wonderful country, the good old USA. And this time again, it's trans people. As a result of their radical left and their use of identity politics agenda, they're really driving this country apart. I thought Joe Biden was supposed to be the great unifier, and all they're doing is driving us apart. I have found pinholes of light within the dark of this corrupt kid-capturing credo by rabbit-holing my way through an infiltrated internet. I needed to find both the reassurance that I was not alone in my refute of impelled speech and coerced credo to which I don’t subscribe and the disturbing truth about what was really going on in the world around me. … read full article
US - My Sweet Baby Boy
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
October 3, 2022
It’s funny how no one seems to be able to recognize that we all change as our brains fully develop. In my early twenties, I decided I would be okay not having children, but as I reached my late twenties, my priorities shifted. Although I was not able to get pregnant traditionally, I was very fortunate to be blessed with a baby boy. I have never felt such immediate love at any time in my life. I knew I would do everything I could to protect my child from the world and to help him live a happy life. My son changed my life in ways I never thought possible.
My son was never the typical athletic boy. He was interested in how things worked, how plants grew and anything science based. He worried about the world and what would happen if people kept throwing trash away. He was clumsy and awkward (we didn’t find out until much later that this was related to a genetic condition that I was diagnosed with and passed on to him). … read full article
Thanks, as always for putting these newsletters together. I have been waiting for them every night this week, now that I've discovered your SubStack. That said, I'm finding the last few pretty demoralizing. It feels like the issue is intensifying and that the TRAs are pushing even harder to ram through their agenda. Add to that, the large number of mainstream people who still naively think that this is just about trans rights and being inclusive, and all I see is the ideology becoming more intrenched.
Does anybody else reading see the situation more optimistically? Perhaps someone who has been at this a little longer than my 5 months has seen a broader shift that is hard for me to see? I would like to have more hope that we will right this ship!
