This day in Herstory: Adrienne Cecile Rich, born May 16, 1929 (died March 27, 2012), was an American poet, essayist and feminist. She was called "one of the most widely read and influential poets of the second half of the 20th century" and was credited with bringing "the oppression of women and lesbians to the forefront of poetic discourse". Rich criticized rigid forms of feminist identities and valorized what she coined the "lesbian continuum", which is a female continuum of solidarity and creativity that impacts and fills women's lives. Meet the activists on the ‘right side of history’
What I learned from my brush with black-clad trans activists in Manchester.
From Spiked (UK)
By Stephen Knight
May 16, 2022
The debate surrounding gender identity is the surest sign that free expression is in danger in 2020s Britain. Things that were considered obviously true just five minutes ago have now become so taboo that in saying them you may risk your job or even receive an invitation to the local police station. The pace at which these rules have changed is a testament to the extraordinary influence that trans-rights activism has had on our culture and institutions. … read full article

A few days ago, a wave of new subscribers came rolling in, for which I am grateful, even though I don’t know if they’re here to learn more and digest a heterodox lefty viewpoint or to keep tabs on an apostate. Either way: Welcome!
If you don’t yet know, this column is directed at liberal folks who are poorly educated by our own media about the science of gender-affirming care and how best to support gender dysphoric youth. … read full article
Limiting transgender trend’s harm
Checks on treatments that feed gender confusion are overdue
From The Washington Times (USA)
By Editorial Board
May 16, 2022
A fad can be healthy, like the hula hoop in the 1950s and the Harlem Shake in the 2010s. When driven by a form of self-loathing, though, a fad can be destructive. It’s clear that the transgender phenomenon is just such a trend, taking a toll on boys and girls who come to fancy themselves as the opposite sex. Standing against edgy behavioral trends like being transgender takes courage. With the well-being of America’s youth on the line, fortunately, some are stepping forward. … read full article

Above all, I love my daughter
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
May 16, 2022
Above all - I love my daughter. And, to me, there is no cause worth her life.
Jordan Petersen speaks about young people creating wars when none exist. Some kids join the circus, the merchant navy, or Médecins Sans Frontières, or a touring rock band. They might marry young and badly, join a priesthood, become a Scientologist, join a commune. Or, as in my daughter’s case, embrace gender ideology. Gender is our children’s generation’s war, it seems. In this sense, our pain and sadness is perhaps similar to mothers of previous generations, whose children have gone off to fight in a distant war. … read full article
I’ll Love You Forever
I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my daughter you’ll be.
From MamaOfLesbian’s Newsletter
May 16, 2022
When you were born, I asked, ‘What is she?’ through the half lucid haze that childbirth can induce. You were, quite obviously, my girl. I had casually passed up my opportunities to find out your sex throughout the pregnancy, partly to be surprised in a time that I didn’t believe the world had much to surprise me with, and partly out of my trifling fear of one day having a teenage daughter much like my rebellious former self.
As an infant, you clung to me as if I was your world and I to you, as you were mine, our little universe impenetrable by outsiders and insiders alike. We were the two, the bonded, the glue. … read full article
"Take a Breath": Allison Bailey Trial Demonstrates Male Dominance Tactics
We don’t need patronizing men to tell us to breathe, we need them to stop suffocating us.
From 4W (USA)
By Josephine Bartosch
May 16, 2022
Take a breath” instructed Barrister Andrew Hochhauser QC. Allison Bailey, the black, lesbian barrister he had been cross-examining replied, “I don't need to take a breath — don't patronise me.” Without waiting to inhale himself, Hochhauser called Bailey, “angry,” an accusation she neatly rebuffed with well-practiced composure.
This small exchange was loaded: a white man tried to goad a black woman, and when she responded by asserting herself and drawing attention to his tactics, he cynically pulled-out the “angry black woman” trope to undermine her credibility. As a witness in her own case, Bailey was not afforded the space to express how she may have felt, though her resolute rebuttal was exquisite. It spoke of a lifetime of having to politely correct bigoted bores without rising to their bait. … read full article
Trans thought experiments: Heads, you're trans. Tails, you're not 'cis.'
From Writing behavior by Eliza Mondegreen (Canada)

May 16, 2022
Online trans communities are short on definitions—if you think you might be trans, you probably are, whatever that means to you!—but trans thought experiments abound.
Take one of the most popular thought experiments: what if there were a magic button you could push that would turn you into the opposite sex? Would you push it? If so, you’re probably trans. ‘Cis’ people wouldn’t want to push that button, not even out of sheer curiosity. … read full article
My experience with Anime and how it impacted my life
drifting from reality into a fantasy world
From magiruuvelvet
May 16, 2022
I got requests from parents to share my experience with Japanese Anime. I thought long about it on how to frame this article. But since Anime has a different impact on everyone, I opted to make this article mainly about my own experience with Anime and what value this type of media has in my life. Additionally I’m going to expose lies of the modern transgender community about Anime and transitioning. This article should hopefully give parents more insights on how Anime may impact their children.
I sectioned this article into three parts:
my personal experience with Anime
the more “troublesome” genres of Anime inappropriate for your children
how modern Anime might induce transitioning
