Today’s Extraordinary Revolutionary Female (T.E.R.F.)
And the newest inductee into the Global Order of Terven Women!
Sinéad Watson
In the unlikely event that you don’t know the brilliant Sinéad Watson, please let her introduce herself to you in her wonderful “Ramblings of a detransitioned woman” on YouTube.
Sinéad is a detransitioned woman from Scotland. She transitioned between 2015 and 2019. She’s an advisor for Genspect, “a voice for parents with gender-questioning kids.” From her Genspect bio, we learn:
Her personal experience of having been evaluated, diagnosed and treated at a gender clinic has given her some insights into the process that others may not have.
As a detransitioned woman who has spent many hours discussing and dissecting her transition with her mother and father, she is very aware that the parents of gender-questioning people may have questions and concerns that have been ignored or dismissed. For that reason, she is happy to advise anyone from a personal, rather than a professional, position.
She’s also the Detransition Educator on the Leadership Board of the Gender Dysphoria Alliance, where she “is an advocate for balanced care of gender questioning youth.”
As a panelist and speaker, Sinéad contributed an inspiring voice for optimism at the Genspect Conference for #DetransAwarenessDay, held this past Saturday, March 12.
Following is a Twitter thread that she posted before the conference on March 12.
It's #DetransAwarenessDay.
I began detransition in October 2019 by ceasing my testosterone injections and returning to my birth name, Sinéad. The most common question I get from those new to this discussion is, “why did you transition in the first place?” Well ...
Like other trans people, I transitioned because I was suffering from gender dysphoria. We're told people with dysphoria are treated with transition, right? But unlike other trans people, transition didn't help me. The second most common question is “why did you detransition?”
I detransitioned because I experienced extreme transition regret: realizing that my desire to become a man stemmed from a variety of factors that ultimately led me to want to be someone else, not my “authentic self,” but someone (and something) else entirely. It was an escape.
My transition was fueled by self-hatred, not self-acceptance. I didn't want to be Sinéad because I hated Sinéad. Sinéad was a woman and I wanted no part in that anymore. I'd become Séan, a man, and I'd feel better. Or so I hoped.
It's been a long road, but on #DetransAwarenessDay I can confidently say that I am no longer gender dysphoric. I'm finally happy to be me. I wouldn't have gotten to this place without the support of so many other amazing detransitioners, whose stories I'll be retweeting today.
I never thought I'd ever accept myself. But I do – and I've never been happier. To anyone struggling with transition regret, you're absolutely not alone. Recovery is possible: My DMs are open to anyone who needs a rock to lean on, as my rocks once did for me. Thank you
The day before the conference, March 11, Sinéad tweeted:
Unsurprisingly (as trans-rights activists are not generally noted for their grace, kindness, or eloquence), she received the following tone-deaf reply:
And none less than the great J.K. Rowling provided this fitting response:
We could not agree more! We are so proud to welcome the wise, witty, and courageous Sinéad Watson to the Global Order of Terven Women.
Several Women Assaulted at Manchester March against Male Violence
Manchester protesters met with milkshakes, broken bottles and physical assault.
From 4W (USA)
By Andreia Nobre
March 14, 2022
A walking vigil about male violence against women in Manchester was disrupted halfway by a man throwing milkshakes on female protesters. A few days after International Women’s Day, on March 12, the group Manchester Feminist Network organized the event, which was attended by other groups like Women’s Rights Network (WRN) Manchester, Northen Radfem Network (NRFN), and Yes Matters UK, who were collecting donations for their free services for children who’ve experienced sexual abuse.
“Three of us brought our young daughters,” a member of WRN Manchester told 4W.pub. The attendants of the vigil were chanting "Whatever we wear, wherever we go, Yes Means Yes and No Means No" and "Blame the System, Not The Victim," among others from a “history of reclaim the streets women's marches passed through the generations,” according to Gemma Aitchison, from YES Matters UK.
A feminist campaigner, nicknamed Belstaffie, led the chanting about ending violence against women and girls when a man interrupted them shouting “transwomen are women,” which was met by the protesters with “transwomen are men.” According to WRN, he left, and the march resumed. But the women at the back, mostly mothers from WRN with their girls, heard a “commotion up ahead” and saw a glass bottle landing near them, forcing some of the women with children to leave immediately.
“We looked up ahead to see that Belstaffie had milkshakes thrown over her,” while a man with pink hair wearing a dress was running away. … read full article (and SUPPORT 4W!)

This is not a piece I was expecting to write but I feel its best to address what happened on the IWD march in Manchester this weekend.
Now I am no stranger to marches and protests for women’s rights and Manchester itself has a proud history of women coming together to peacefully protest for our rights. I know the chants about consent, about victim blaming, excusing male violence and power to the women passed on through many generations of women from the movement. I have never felt afraid to march.
Feminists have always been labelled man haters and been accused of going too far… although to my knowledge none has wanted to give back the rights feminists have given them. I’m used to people not agreeing with me but I’m ok with that! Talk, share ideas, maybe we will both change our minds on stuff after learning from each other – disagreement is not disrespect. … read full article
Woke CEOs’ battle for transgender indoctrination in schools will backfire
From New York Post (USA)
By Betsy McCaughey
March 14, 2022
Woke corporate CEOs seem to think they know better than voters what’s best for the country. These titans are throwing their companies’ clout and cash behind activists pushing gender-fluidity lessons for kindergarteners and other extreme political causes.
Expect this corporate activism to backfire. Corporations should be serving their customers, not trying to override the democratic process, like thousand-pound gorillas undoing what the electorate — including their own customers — wants.
Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek declared his opposition Friday to a Florida state bill that bans instruction for children in grades K-3 about choosing their sexual orientation. The bill also bars teachers from coaching children behind their parents’ backs on the issue.
Vowing to defend the “basic human rights” of the LGBTQ+ community, Chapek pledged $5 million to the Human Rights Campaign. Even that whopping amount of protection money wasn’t sufficient.
The next night, at its annual Hollywood-studded gala, HRC removed Disney’s name from the corporate sponsors list. HRC’s interim president, Joni Madison, spelled out the extortion: Disney’s money won’t be accepted until the company “puts real muscle” behind killing the Florida bill and others like it. … read full article
ACLU of Virginia threatens Hanover school board with federal lawsuit
From Richmond Times-Dispatch
By Holly Prestidge
March 14, 2022
A Jan. 31 demand letter to the Hanover County School Board from the ACLU of Virginia threatening federal legal action on behalf of a transgender student was the catalyst behind an impromptu closed special session on Feb. 22 by the school board as well as the board's 4-to-3 vote last week to "engage" Arizona-based Alliance Defending Freedom “for legal review" of the county's equal education policy "at no cost to HCPS.
The demand letter, in which the student's name and school were redacted in a copy provided to The Times-Dispatch, ordered the school board to "immediately comply" with federal law by allowing the student to use the boys' restrooms at his school, per Title IX, which prohibits discrimination based on one's sex, and the Equal Protection Clause affirmed under the 2015 U.S. Fourth Circuit decision in the Gavin Grimm case.
Grimm, a transgender man, sued the Gloucester County School Board after it barred him from using the boys' restroom. A federal court — the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals — ruled that the action taken by the school division was unconstitutional and violated his rights under Title IX. Last summer, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the case, which means the Fourth Circuit’s decision stands. … read full article
When it comes to minor transition, gender activists leave lawmakers little choice
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By Debra Soh
March 14, 2022
On Tuesday, Idaho’s state House of Representatives approved a bill criminalizing medical treatments for gender dysphoric youth.
Alabama has already advanced similar legislation criminalizing hormonal and surgical interventions for minors, and in Texas, parents can be investigated by the Department of Family and Protective Services for allowing a child to transition medically.
The early transitioning approach, which typically involves a social and eventual medical transition, is not supported by scientific research as the best treatment for a child’s gender dysphoria. (I do not do clinical work anymore and am basing my conclusions on the research literature.) Most children will desist, outgrowing their gender dysphoria by the time they reach puberty. In the event that only a social transition is facilitated, research shows this is associated with gender dysphoria persisting.
Unfortunately, this information is for the most part completely hidden from parents making these decisions. Instead of allowing families to consider all sides of the argument, transgender activists and their allies frame any reference to desistence as hateful, choosing instead to promote the false narrative that every gender dysphoric child is at high risk of suicide if they don’t transition and vilifying any clinician or expert who disagrees. … read full article
Oregon's racial standards for kindergartners requires kids to 'identify possible solutions to injustices'
The standards also require kindergartners to 'identify examples of unfairness'
From Fox News (USA)
By Jessica Chasmar
March 14, 2022
The state of Oregon has adopted social studies standards for kindergartners that require children to understand their own identity groups and identify examples of racial injustice.
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) adopted the new standards to integrate ethnic studies in social studies curricula for kindergarten through 12th grade, adding new "perspectives and histories" to allow students to "feel welcome and recognized in the classroom and a part of our collective narrative, our shared history," an ODE spokesman told Fox News Digital.
Kindergartners will "engage in respectful dialogue with classmates to define diversity comparing and contrasting visible and invisible similarities and differences," according to the new standards. … read full article
DAILY WIRE EXCLUSIVE POLL: Over 60% Of Americans Back Florida’s Limits On K-3 Lessons On Sexual Orientation And Gender Identity
From The Daily Wire (USA)
By Tim Meads
March 14, 2022
Nearly two-thirds of Americans support the key features of Florida’s H.B. 1557 “Parental Rights in Education” proposal (dubbed by Democrats as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill), according to a new poll released on Monday by The Daily Wire.
The national poll of U.S. adults was conducted over the weekend by market research technology platform Lucid on behalf of The Daily Wire. The survey’s 1,000 person sample was 37% Democrat, 32% Republican, and 31% Independent. Consistent with the official 2020 popular vote totals, the poll showed a +4 point advantage for President Joe Biden in the 2020 ballot among the respondents who said they voted in the election.
Unlike other surveys that have relied on a summary of the legislation written by pollsters, The Daily Wire’s researchers presented the respondents in its study with the actual language from the Florida bill’s most criticized passage and then asked them to react to it:
“Below is a passage from a new state education law. Please indicate whether you support or oppose it. ‘Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through third grade or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.” … read full article
Care about the trans debate? Ask yourself this question
From The Spectator (UK)
By James Kirkup
March 14, 2022
J.K. Rowling is talking about sex and gender again, which means a lot of people are getting angry. It’s striking how the prospect of a woman eloquently stating her opinions and refusing to stop stating them – even when she has been told to shut up – seems to make some people unhappy.
Because Rowling admirably refused to do as she’s told and be quiet, this is becoming a familiar story. 'Famous author wades into trans row' is good copy. And it gets angry clicks on social media.
None of this changes the minds of people already immersed in this stuff, of course. Those people remain a minority. Politically speaking, the most important aspect of Britain’s gender rows are that they are marginal: the majority of people don’t have developed opinions on the issue. Most polling on the topic should therefore be treated with caution.
About the only thing we can say with confidence is that a lot of people in Britain don’t yet know enough about the sex-gender issue to be sure where they stand on it. Meanwhile, voters may well grow frustrated with politicians who engage with the debate, concluding that their priorities should be set on different issues. (None of this means I think the sex-gender issue is unimportant: something can be important without being salient.) But because J.K. Rowing is famous, proper famous, more people pay attention. And that matters. … read full article
What do you do when the story you’ve been telling yourself falls apart?
Detransitioners and gender clinicians face a similar challenge: confront reality or look away?
From Writing Behavior (Canada)
By Eliza Mondegreen
March 14, 2022
The ways gender clinicians talk about detransition are so illuminating. They'll stick "detransition" in scare quotes, they'll say detransitioners are "transitioning to" their “assigned gender at birth.” They talk about gender journeys where patients transition and transition back, on a quest to discover their true selves—never mind that those “journeys” may include sterilizing pharmaceutical regimens and surgeries. In short, gender clinicians will do and say anything to avoid confronting the reality of harm and regret that it was their responsibility to prevent.
To avoid this reckoning, clinicians must trap detransitioners in the ideological framework that legitimizes transition. Sometimes, this trap is quite a literal one: requiring patients to demonstrate gender dysphoria and live in as their “desired gender” (read: actual sex) before they can change their legal documents and access medical procedures to reverse the effects of transition. Mostly, clinicians do this rhetorically, refusing to recognize detransition for what it is: a rejection of the belief system that justified transition. Clinicians tell detransitioners that they might just be genderfluid or nonbinary, or warn them that they need to work on their “internalized transphobia.” The patient isn’t allowed to say "I'm just female,” and that means the patient isn’t allowed to break up with gender identity and a way of thinking about gender and sex that harmed the patient in the first place.
So to detransition medically, legally, and (in many settings) socially, detransitioners are forced to keep playing the same mind game. Is it any wonder many detransitioners don't go back to the medical providers who harmed them in the first place and who refuse to open their eyes to the reality of what they’re doing? … read full article (and SUBSCRIBE to Writing Behavior!)
Texas dad's public custody battle helped ignite a movement against transgender health care for kids
Jeff Younger sees himself as the “tip of the spear” in an effort that led the state to investigate parents of transgender children for child abuse.
From KERA News (USA)
By Karen Brooks Harper | The Texas Tribune
March 14, 2022
When some of the most powerful Republicans in Texas began targeting the transgender community in 2017, they found the notion — initially — hard to sell.
The conservative grassroots were all for legislation regulating transgender people’s bathroom use, the first hard legislative push by state leadership to limit the rights of that community. But state House leaders didn’t seem to have the stomach for it, and efforts in the Capitol failed.
Enter Jeff Younger.
The North Texas dad was sounding the alarm on social media and his blog about his bitter public custody battle over 7-year-old twins with his estranged wife, a pediatrician. The dispute focused on the social gender transition of one twin, who was assigned male at birth but lived as a girl at the mother’s house.
While the mother argued in court that their child drove her transition by choice, wearing dresses and choosing a girl’s name, Younger contended the child was happy to be a boy and that his wife was pushing the child to transition against their will.
His fight became a rallying cry for the hard right. On conservative websites and GOP politicians’ social media, Younger was held up as a victim, a tragic example of allowing the so-called leftist transgender agenda to continue unabated. His child’s birth name became a popular hashtag on Twitter. … read full article
SPAT: The Future of Gender Affirmation Medicine and Therapy
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
March 14, 2022
Written by the father of a feisty, brainy, complex, feminine ROGD daughter filled with limitless potential and also deep reservoirs of compassion, “fuck off,” and resilience.
Most did not anticipate the tragic effects of gender identity ideology on a generation of children, teens, young adults and their families. The next tragedy is much easier to predict.
Published February 2024 in the Turban Times (pre-printed here with permission):
SPAT (Suicide Prevention for Affirming Therapists) was created in August of 2023 as a resource for Gender Affirming Therapists (GATs) who took a well-meaning but poorly informed approach to the care for young people who came to them questioning their gender identities between 2007 and 2022.
In the aftermath of the tragically well-documented rate of regret and self-harm among young adults who received “gender affirming care”, particularly between 2014 and 2022, we are witnessing another unfolding tragedy: mental health practitioners who provided this “care” and funneled pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults down the path to “gender medicalization” are themselves becoming the most common cohort engaging in self-harm and presenting with suicidal ideation.
SPAT’s goal is to apply an explorative, well-researched, non-political and non-ideological standard of care to GATs which they themselves did not apply to the vulnerable young people who sought their help during what major media outlets (BBC, Fox, CNN, NPR) are now calling “Gendergeddon,” which tragically has led to the largest epidemic of mental health crises amongst 20-28 year-olds in recorded history.
The actual number of GATs who are seeking psychiatric care is not currently known, but evidence is mounting that a statistically improbable number (over a 4000% uptick in the past 16 months alone) have left the profession. This alarming increase in almost any other social scientific context would attract the attention of mainstream media, but sadly the plight of the GATs has been deemed by most major outlets as “outside our current coverage priorities.” … read full article (and SUBSCRIBE to PITT!)
Wisconsin Teachers Instructed to Hide Students’ Gender Identities from Parents
From National Review (USA)
By Ryan Mills
March 14, 2022
Teachers at a school district in Wisconsin are being instructed to hide their students’ changing gender identities from parents on the grounds that “parents are not entitled to know,” and that it is “knowledge that must be earned,” according to leaked training documents.
The instruction was part of several recent staff development sessions for teachers in the Eau Claire Area School District in central Wisconsin that focused on safe spaces, gender identity, microaggressions, and oppression. According to one of the trainers, parents who disagree with their kids about gender identity issues are guilty of a form of “abuse.” The trainers also encouraged the teachers to be activists: “to vote, to demonstrate, to protest.”
Critics of the training sessions called the instruction “blatant disregard for the parents and guardians of our community’s children,” and they said it sends the message that schools are in control of children, not parents and families.
The fight over teacher training in Eau Claire is the latest skirmish in the national debate over the role of schools in promoting activism, and teaching “woke” concepts about race, gender, and sex.
The training sessions were held in late February, hosted by diversity and multiculturalism staffers from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. The training was first reported by the conservative media group Empower Wisconsin, and by Parents Defending Education, a national nonprofit that fights classroom indoctrination and activists agendas in schools. … read full article
