This day in Herstory: Helen Adams Keller, born June 27, 1880 (died June 1, 1968), was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer. Born in West Tuscumbia, Alabama, she lost her sight and her hearing after a bout of illness at the age of 19 months. She then communicated primarily using home signs until the age of seven, when she met her first teacher and life-long companion Anne Sullivan. This young woman taught Keller language, including reading and writing. After an education at both specialist and mainstream schools, Keller attended Radcliffe College of Harvard University and became the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. (more)

On Tuesday, June 28, at 9am PST, California will hold its next hearing on California SB107, the California pediatric transgender medical sanctuary state bill. If passed it will usurp parental rights in the 49 other states, encourage runaways to flee to California to transition, and shield culpable enablers and profiting parties from accountability and consequences.
Below please find two pieces of essential reading in opposition to SB107, that demonstrate why the rest of the country should not trust California. Please take the time to read these statements and learn about the bill that California is currently considering—you will see that this bill will have devastating implications far beyond California. ... read full article
US - Schools are stealing parental rights
And causing irreversible harm to children
From The Washington Times (USA)
By Keri D. Ingraham
June 27, 2022
K-12 public schools are no longer a place children go to receive solid academic instruction. Instead, they have become indoctrination centers for progressive ideology. The aggressive promotion of radical ideas about human sexuality is not only infused into all academic subjects but is also infecting school practices and policies.
Step on the campus of a public school today, even an elementary school, and you will instantly be confronted with the gay pride flag, transgender flag or a combination of the two called the “Progress Pride” flag. …
District leaders, school staff and teachers have pledged their allegiance to a radical gender identity agenda and are working vigorously to instill their beliefs into your children and teens. ... read full article
US - California school district uses JEDI techniques to confuse 3-year-olds about their gender
"Only a Sith deals in absolutes," the famous Star Wars Jedi character Obi-Wan Kenobi said in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. So, too, apparently, do left-wing administrators in a California school district.
From Washington Examiner (USA)

June 27, 2022
Leaked meeting notes from the Poway Unified School District revealed the district uses JEDI techniques to indoctrinate students with left-wing political principles. Brainwashing students to adhere to left-wing political beliefs is, while problematic, nothing new in schools. It is much more of a problem to groom young children by discussing certain sexual topics with them. One of the most troubling discoveries in these notes was the district's intention to target students between 3 and 5 years old with radical, toxic gender ideology.
JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) is yet another social justice program being implemented in schools throughout the country. Its principles read like the handbook of a left-wing cult rather than an academic curriculum. It's a variation of the much-maligned DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) program. The alleged purpose of JEDI is to foster diversity — just so long as that diversity absolutely aligns 100% with left-wing political orthodoxy. ... read full article
US - Trans skateboarder, 29, who beat 13-year-old girl to first prize in women's competition is a divorced, ex-Navy father-of-three who was REJECTED from Olympic qualifiers for having too much testosterone
Ricci Tres, also known as Ricci And Tres, was born Richard Batres to Guatemalan parents; she now lives in LA
On Saturday, she beat 13-year-old Shiloh Catori to win first place at The Boardr street skating event in NYC
Tres served four years in the US Navy and fathered three children with his ex-wife before starting hormones
She tried to enter the Women’s Street USA Skateboarding National Championships last year but was denied
The IOC rules stipulated that she had still had too much testosterone even after taking hormones
Ricci thinks she should be allowed to compete in the Olympics as a woman despite the hormone discrepancy
She said in an interview last year that forcing trans athletes to medically alter their bodies was asking them to 'mutilate themselves'

The transgender skateboarder, 29, who claimed first prize in a New York City women's competition this weekend, defeating her 13-year-old and 10-year-old competitors, is a divorced, ex-Navy father-of-three who was rejected from the women's Olympic qualifiers last year because her testosterone levels were too high.
Ricci And Tres, 29, beat 13-year-old Shiloh Catori to claim first prize at The Boardr street skating contest at the Lower East Side Coleman skatepark in New York City on Saturday, taking home $500.

US - Make transgender ideology expensive
From Washington Examiner (USA)
By Washington Examiner
June 27, 2022
Democrats have co-opted the term "big lie" to refer to former President Donald Trump 's state of denial over his 2020 election result. …
There is, however, a much more profound big lie at work in modern life — that a man can become a woman by sheer force of either his will or his own delusions.
Transgender ideology has been fully embraced by a deranged news media and other unmoored cultural institutions only very recently. …
Fortunately, the legal system can help save civilization from such nonsense. ... read full article
US - Planned Parenthood, you’ve sold out women and children
You are letting down women and children to gain new markets
From Mercatornet (Australia)

Dear Planned Parenthood,
You have been an important health care provider to me in the past and I deeply value your care for everyone seeking reproductive health services. It is with great sadness that I cannot continue to support your work. Your new policy of ‘gender-affirming hormone therapy’ strikes me as terribly misguided and potentially incredibly harmful.
You advertise the ability to be prescribed ‘gender-affirming hormones’ “the same day as your first visit. No letter from a mental health provider is required.” I have some specific thoughts on what makes this a very dangerous option:
Physical impact of hormones
My mother passed away from complications from post-menopausal hormone replacement therapy that resulted in malignant cancer and stroke. No doctor took the time to review her genetic history to assess whether she was predisposed to cancer or cardiovascular risk from exogenous hormones. It turns out, she was in a high-risk category for both cancer and cardiovascular disease. ... read full article

Canada - Why do children need ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’?
From Feminist Current (Canada)
By Alline Cormier
June 26, 2022
Making children vulnerable to adult predators is something most would like to avoid, but you wouldn’t know it judging by the actions of Canadian politicians, policymakers, librarians, school staff, and some parents. Misguided adults — believing themselves to be engaging in fun, progressive entertainment — are failing to safeguard children across North America by exposing them to drag culture.
“Drag Queen Story Hour” (DQSH) became a regular event at North American libraries, schools, and bookstores beginning in 2015. The drag queens — all men dressed up as clownish versions of “women” — read stories to children under the guise of normalizing “gender fluidity” and giving kids “glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.” DQSH has chapters in 29 states, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, Germany, Sweden, and Denmark. Drag story time events have become incredibly popularized, expanding beyond DQSH — a library in Saint John, New Brunswick held its own version of drag story time earlier this month, and the Toronto Public Library hosted a “Drag Queen Family Storytime” on June 18. Even small coastal towns like Sechelt, B.C. have caught on, where a Drag Queen Storytime took place over the weekend. ... read full article

Felton was promoting a new attraction at the Warner Bros Studio Tour, an exhibition dedicated to the Potter universe.

A publicist immediately stepped in to say: “Next question please.” Felton made no move to answer. ... read full article
UK - What really happened in Nottingham
In 2022, women are no longer allowed to gather in public libraries
From The Critic (UK)
By Sian Louise
June 27, 2022
This is an account of women banned from libraries; a strange thing to have to write in 2022 — but here we all are. It all began with my mission to save three local community libraries under threat of closure by Nottingham City Council: Aspley Library, Basford Library and Radford Lenton Library.
That’s why I have been hosting events in libraries: to keep the issue of libraries on people’s radar locally. The event with Julie Bindel was the second talk I’ve hosted in one of the threatened libraries. I invited Julie to Nottingham to speak about her published books and her decades of work as a feminist activist campaigning on the issue of male violence against women and girls. This was on 1 May and I proposed an event date of 25 June; Julie kindly agreed and said she would be honoured to take part as libraries meant a great deal to her. ... read full article

A Friend: “Oh my god…what happened?”
Me: “I have no idea!! I must not have been paying attention, I don’t know how I could have been so careless.”
A Friend: “Was there an accident? Or was she sick?”
Me: “No, no accident, and she wasn’t sick.”
A Friend: “I don’t understand, did someone hurt her?”
Me: “No, I’d never let anyone hurt her—it’s my job to keep her safe.”
A Friend: “Did she hurt herself?”
Me: “I think that’s the best way to describe it, but she is still breathing, she is still here I even get glimpses of her all the time, but she tells me that she’s gone.”
