From The Daily Signal (USA)
By Mary Margaret Olohan
January 24, 2022
A biological male who identifies as transsexual tore into opponents of a bill protecting women’s sports, telling Indiana state lawmakers Monday that “it is unfair to expect girls to cede their hard-won rights.”
Following the testimony, 46-year-old Corinna Cohn expressed frustration to The Daily Signal on Monday afternoon that “trans activism has become a zero-sum game.”
“I am privileged to be able to live my life peacefully and enjoy a wide range of civil rights as a trans person,” Cohn said in a Twitter direct message, adding that “trans people enjoy privileges to live as we do, but if we continue to cannibalize women’s rights, the backlash will be severe.” … read full article

UK Woman Arrested After Posting Women’s Rights Stickers Countering Transgender Narrative
From Women Are Human
By Diana Shaw
January 24, 2022
UK — Gwent, Wales. A woman with mobility issues was reportedly arrested for hate-aggravated vandalism and public order offences after allegedly posting stickers concerning women’s rights in public places. A gender-critical group is suggesting the arrest is an example of police “doubling down” following a recent Court of Appeal ruling that found police should restrict the definition of a “hate incident” to allow more safeguards for freedom of speech.
Fair Cop, “a group of gender critical lawyers, former police officers, writers and professionals,” announced in a 23 January tweet that “a woman who is bi polar and using mobility scooter” had been “arrested for ‘feminist’ graffiti and stickering,” and was waiting to be interviewed by police.
Friends and fellow activists identify the woman arrested as Jennifer Swayne, though this has not been officially confirmed. … read full article

From Newsweek (USA)

An Indiana House bill was passed through the chamber's education committee Monday that would bar transgender girls from participating in K-12 sports, a bill which is one of several currently in the state legislature targeting transgender people.
House Bill 1041 passed through the House Education Committee Monday after about three hours of testimony from supporters and LGBTQ activists that opposed the bill, The Associated Press reported.
In addition to the bill, which Newsweek previously reported would prevent those who were born male and now identify as female from participating on female school sports teams, the state legislature is considering several other bills that would limit the rights of transgender people, according to the AP. … read full article

The irony should not be lost on us that a trigger warning is required for an article written for adults about what their kids are watching on the internet. But in the age of social media and trans mass hysteria, this is where we find ourselves.
A brilliant documentary called “The Call is Coming From Inside the House; The Great Awokening” was posted on YouTube on January 16th 2022. Within a few days, it accrued thousands of views. It features extensive footage which has been publicly posted on social media promoting trans identities and trans surgeries, much of which is highly graphic and disturbing. … read full article
Penny for your thoughts
Laurie Penny writes a book about how to deliver change while actual feminists are getting their hands dirty
From The Critic (UK)
By Julie Bindel
January 24, 2022
I wanted to like Sexual Revolution: Modern Fascism and the Feminist Fightback, the new book from millennial writer Laurie Penny, mainly because I believe we need as wide a range of feminist theory as possible. It is no secret that we are at opposite ends of some key debates in feminism, such as the issue of whether prostitution is exploitation (me, yes, Penny, no), and whether demands from trans activists to be included in female-only spaces represent a clash of rights (again: me, yes, Penny, no).
Penny believes that “trans women are women” and therefore should be able to share prison wings, changing rooms and hospital wards with females. Penny is also a vociferous supporter of the “sex work is work” ideology — so how does that allow for a critique of sexual harassment and exploitation? With an entire chapter on the politics of consent, how does she deal with the fact that prostitution is one-sided sexual pleasure? … read full article
Wokeism Is a Cruel and Dangerous Cult
Wokeism’s natural logic is to destroy the lives of people of both genders, of all races, and—if need be—of those of every age, all to leverage an otherwise unworkable ideological agenda.
From The Independent Institute (USA)
By Victor Davis Hanson
January 24, 2022
Wokeism has been described by its critics as the omnipresent use of race—and to a lesser extent, gender—to replace meritocracy and thus ensure equality of result. What follows from implementing that ideology are reparatory actions to reward those of the present by atoning for the injustices done to others in the past.
Some see it as an update of 1960s cultural Marxism fads. Others scoff that it is just a return to 1980s-style political correctness.
Still more see it as the logical successor to 1990s-type race, class, and gender obsessions—albeit with a shriller and more dangerous Jacobin, Soviet, and Maoist twist. Wokeism’s hysteria also invites comparisons to the Salem witch trials and McCarthyism.
But few have described wokeism as the cruel creed that it is. … read full article
