Broward County Public Schools is being accused by a parents group of promoting transgender ideology

Florida's Broward County Public Schools district's support guide on LGBTQ+ youth appeared to suggest that parents can be kept at least somewhat in the dark on their child's transition, according to a Wednesday report from Parents Defending Education, which also accuses the district of promoting transgenderism to students.
A manual called the "Broward County Public Schools LGBTQ Critical Support Guide" stated in its policy for schoolchildren in 6th-12th grades that before notifying "any parent or guardian regarding the transition process, school staff should work closely with the student to assess the degree to which, if any, the parent(s) or guardian will be involved in the process and must carefully consider the health, well-being and safety of the transitioning student." The guide was created in 2020 under a different superintendent who resigned for unrelated reasons. … read full article

Why Are the Detroit Tigers Funding Gender-Transition Surgeries for Minors?
From The National Review (USA)
By NATE HOCHMAN
May 27, 2022
On June 1, the Detroit Tigers will host a special “Pride Night” game dedicated to “celebrat[ing] our Pride community partners, friends, and families” at Comerica Park. …
But LGBT activism has galloped to the left in recent years, and the groups that the Tigers are aligned with are no exception. Many of the groups that the Tigers are funneling ticket money to are actively promoting transgender identification — or even medical transitions — for children. A few examples:
PFLAG of Detroit’s “Policy Statements” page writes that “teaching there are only two genders may make youth of different identities, genders or orientations not feel included,” and sponsors a “Public Library Project” that “is dedicated to donating Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, and Transgender-positive books to public libraries for a greater understanding of the real lives of our children.” … read full article

An inmate at New Jersey’s Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women (EMCFW) is speaking out against the transfer of trans-identifying male convicts into the facility.
Speaking with Reduxx, incarcerated woman Miseka Diggs explained that the female inmates in EMCFW are “scared to death” of the men. Under the current policy, the men do not need to undergo any surgery, and Diggs asserts that most of the men are not on hormone replacement therapy. She stated that a majority of women incarcerated at EMCFW have past trauma, with many being victims of male violence, and the presence of men in the facility is causing them severe distress. … read full article
This Never Happens
Except it does. All the time.
From The Glinner Update (UK)
By JL
May 27, 2022
Whenever women protest the inclusion of trans-identified males in our spaces, we’re shouted down and dismissed as transphobes and hysterics. No ‘transwoman’ would ever do us harm; this never happens, we’re told. When we produce evidence to the contrary, we’re accused of bigotry and of demonising trans people. …
Men can be a risk to women and children however they ‘identify’ and it’s impossible to tell which males are harmless and which are not. So basic safeguarding means we exclude all males from women’s spaces. The list below demonstrates that we are right to do so. … read full article

Banning “Incendiary Speech and Rhetoric”: Boston University Faces New Free Speech Controversies and Calls for Selective Censorship
From Jonathan Turley (USA)
May 27, 2022
There was an interesting contrast this week in the attitude toward free speech values at Boston University with two controversies involving figures at opposing ends of the political spectrum. In one case, a professor defended looting and other crimes as forms of racial justice. In the other case, a speaker was hosted to speak about conservative values deemed anti-LGBTQ. One of the speakers was the subject of a student government resolution declaring him to be a danger to students and rejecting free speech rights for him to be heard by others on campus. Can you guess which one?
The two controversies would seem to reaffirm the value of free speech across the political spectrum. While we can disagree with one or both of these speakers, we should be able to agree that a university is a place for a diversity of positions and viewpoints. That is not exactly how it is viewed by many on the Boston University campus. … read full article

How I Got Here: Trans OCD & Internet Addiction
A Detrans Man’s Story About Trans OCD and Internet Addiction
From TullipR - Detrans Man
May 27, 2022
For this piece, I’d like to focus on two common themes:
Gender as an obsession (Trans OCD)
Internet Addiction.
The Internet is a major driver in propelling the obsession that someone is trans, this is true for me and is also true for many other detransitioners. It permits us to discount all our past hurts, whilst simultaneously allowing us to rewrite our own history in the name of gender dysphoria. This in itself is an obsession for many, but not all. And it’s no accident that many of the big-name detransitioners talked about discovering online communities that fuelled the fixation on gender dysphoria. … read full article
It’s Been A Rough Road
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
May 27, 2022
Below is a letter that I wrote for my daughter—although since I never gave it to her, really I wrote it for myself, to try to process my feelings, and to share with my daughter's non-affirming therapist. Maybe one day I will give this to my daughter.
Since I have found so much comfort in reading other parents’ posts, I wanted to share my letter, in case it can help someone else. This letter was inspired (and in fact a few areas lifted) from a post titled Dear Daughter that appeared on your site. I have that post sitting on my desktop and I have read and reread it numerous times. … read full article
