Josephine Baker, born June 3, 1906 (died April 12, 1975), was an American-born French dancer, singer and actress. Her career was centered primarily in Europe, mostly in her adopted France. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture, the 1927 silent film Siren of the Tropics, directed by Mario Nalpas and Henri Étiévant. (more)
Gender identity lessons, banned in some schools, are rising in others
Students are told that dolls aren’t just for girls, and that there are no ‘boy colors’ or ‘girl colors’
From The Washington Post (USA)
By Laura Meckler

Some lessons are direct: “Who can describe what transgender means?” In other classes, the discussion is more subtle: “Remember, families can come in all shapes and sizes!”
Sometimes teachers simply shift their language to reflect gender diversity that may be in the room. Instead of “Good morning, boys and girls!” the teacher might say, “Good morning, scholars!” … read full article

In June 2021, the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights announced that Title IX prohibitions on sex-based discrimination would be extended to include discrimination based on both sexual orientation and gender identity.
But as the new regulations are expected to drop sometime this month, a growing coalition of ideologically diverse groups is forming to push back against this change, citing concerns over due process in Title IX sexual abuse investigations and worries about protecting women’s rights. … read full article

From REDUXX (USA)
By Reduxx Team
June 3, 2022
A men’s lifestyle outlet is going viral for all the wrong reasons after publishing an article encouraging parents to prepare and invite children to witness “public nudity and kink” at pride parades.
On June 1, Fatherly, a men’s parenting e-zine, released an article titled “Should you take your kids to a pride parade?” On its Twitter card, the article appeared to be titled “Yes, you should take your kids to a pride parade (but have these conversations first).”
In advertising the piece on their official Twitter, Fatherly posted: “Pride Parades and the Pride festivals that follow are noisy and crowded. They’re filled with sights that may be new to kids, like public nudity and kink. So is it appropriate to take your young kids to Pride?” … read full article

It is a moral imperative that we prevent cisgender children from accidentally accessing gender affirming medicine. Cisgender children need a thorough psychological assessment, including a differential diagnosis, and continual therapy before even contemplating hormones or surgery, and cisgender children should have plenty of "off ramps" available during transition. …
Now if all this makes sense to you so far, please understand there are no "cisgender" children or "transgender" children. There are children who may (or may not) have gender dysphoria. These children absolutely DO require psychological support. … read full article
Nurses boycott Royal College after chief rejects gender-critical views
Members say comments by Pat Cullen on transgender debate have created ‘hostile environment’ and they no longer feel safe airing opinions
From The Telegraph (UK)
By Ewan Somerville

Nurses are boycotting their Royal College after its chief rejected gender-critical “smears” in the transgender debate.
Pat Cullen, the Royal College of Nursing’s chief executive, set out her “commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion” in a blog post this week.
Referencing gender debates, she said that “the ability to self-identify cannot be underestimated by those who have never faced these personal challenges”. …
The comments were regarded by some nurses as an attack on their gender-critical views – the belief that women are born female, and the idea that biological sex cannot be changed. … read full article
Civil servants are being fed gender drivel
What passes as ‘training’ on trans issues turns out to be anti-scientific nonsense with little regard for existing laws
From The Times (UK)
By Janice Turner
June 3, 2022
Here are some facts I learnt by watching an “inclusion workshop” for civil servants. A brain in a jar “knows” if it is male or female and, if transplanted into the “wrong” body, would exhibit distress. This country has no legal sex-based rights. It is impossible to define what “woman” or even “female” means. There is zero conflict between women’s rights and trans rights, so beware colleagues asking too many questions; they’re probably bigots.
A:gender, “a network supporting all trans and intersex staff across government”, trains thousands of civil servants annually, from the NHS to the Cabinet Office, yet it forbids its presentations being recorded. Having endured 90 minutes of anti-scientific, legally fallacious twaddle, I can see why it avoids scrutiny. … read full article

The Biden administration is using lunch money to hold ‘school districts hostage,’ the head of a conservative advocacy group said in response to the Department of Agriculture's announcement that it would require certain schools to allow trans students to use the bathroom of their preferred gender.
Schools awarded money from the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), an agency within USDA, must specify in their policies that discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation is prohibited, the department announced in May. It also said allegations of such discrimination must be investigated. … read full article
American wokeness is giving China free rein in the Pacific
From The Australian
By Frank Furedi
June 4, 2022
Australia, along with many Western nations, has become estranged from the art of geopolitics. How else can one explain the fact that both Australia and close ally, the United States were so badly caught off guard by China’s recent expansion into the South Pacific? …
The Biden administration, in particular, has adopted a woke foreign policy that appears obsessive about exporting the cultural politics of identity to the rest of the world. Lecturing the world about the necessity of embracing the woke values of the Western cultural elites has become an integral feature of Biden’s diplomacy.
As it turns out, the project of woke colonialism sits uneasily alongside the pursuit of American – or for that matter Australian – geopolitical interests. Large parts of the world are positively turned off by America’s woke values, and their people resent being told how to lead their lives. … read full article

On June 1, 2022, two local grassroots campaigners helped WoLF launch a public service announcement in Manchester, New Hampshire: “Women, Adult Human Females - It’s Not Complicated.” WoLF is thankful for the fervent nonpartisan collaboration that led to this PSA!
Inspired by other billboard campaigns, including Posie Parker's "Woman" definition billboard in the UK and billboards in the US promoting Abigail Shrier's book, Irreversible Damage, we decided to share our messages with the public in a new way—by rolling out a billboard letting everyone know that the definition of "woman" is not complicated. … read full article

House Republican lawmakers in Ohio passed a bill at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night that would ban transgender girls and women from participating in high school and college athletics. It also comes with a “verification process” of checking the genitals of those “accused” of being trans.
The ‘Save Women’s Sports Act,’ or House Bill 61, wasn’t supposed to be on the schedule for legislators originally. However, at the last minute, Republican representatives added the language to a completely different bill. … read full article

From Washington Examiner (USA)
By KATELYNN RICHARDSON
June 3, 2022
President Joe Biden’s Pride Month 2022 proclamation condemned “an onslaught of dangerous anti-LGBTQI+ legislation” introduced and passed in multiple states, which he claims targets transgender children.
“Today, the rights of LGBTQI+ Americans are under relentless attack. Members of the LGBTQI+ community — especially people of color and trans people — continue to face discrimination and cruel, persistent efforts to undermine their human rights,” he said . “We condemn the dangerous State laws and bills that target LGBTQI+ youth.”
“Anti-LGBTQI+” legislation refers to bills passed in states such as Arizona, Oklahoma, and Alabama, which mandate students to play on sports teams that align with their biological sex or ban “gender reassignment” surgeries and hormone blockers for adolescents under 18. … read full article

Republicans in the Ohio state House advanced a bill this week that if implemented would allow for a “verification” process to prevent transgender women and girls from participating in female athletics.
The bill states that if an athlete’s “sex is disputed,” they are required to show a doctor’s statement “indicating the participant’s sex” based on their “internal and external reproductive anatomy,” “normal endogenously produced levels of testosterone” and an “analysis of the participant’s genetic makeup.” … read full article

Real conversations, one at a time
From Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) (USA)
June 3, 2022
When my daughter approached me and her father more than four years ago to tell us that she was a transgender boy, the floor dropped out beneath me. As I came quickly to understand, she was the embodiment of the Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD) girl: well-meaning liberal parents, everything princessy and pink as a child, a chest full of dress-up clothing, and complete impatience for people who saw her short haircut and couldn’t see that OBVIOUSLY she was a girl. Obviously! But when she started high school, my cool baby feminist introduced herself as “Tommy,” and—again, another cliché—her teachers and the entire school administration conspired to call her “Tommy” and he/him at school, all the while using her real name to our faces, the faces of the only parents she’ll ever have. … read full article
When will companies end their embarrassing Pride hypocrisy?
From The Spectator (UK)
By Stephen Daisley
June 3, 2022
June is Pride Month, the annual exercise in rainbow-washing, and if you listen very carefully you may even hear gay rights mentioned. You might be familiar with Pride Month from past years. On 31 May, the bank is offering you a fixed rate with a four per cent APRC; on 1 June, it wants you to know that, on the off chance you’re non-binary, your mortgage-lender thinks that’s valid.
The most obvious way for a corporation to signal its commitment to inclusivity is to emblazon its corporate branding with the Pride flag, but this is increasingly fraught with difficulty. Because, you see, the Pride flag is no longer inclusive. It’s a gay symbol, after all, and gay men and lesbians rank just below white people and non-graduates in The Current Ideology’s hierarchy of villainy. … read full article
